Hello Dakka, I recently started warhammer, and decided to collect grey knights. While I have no painting experience with miniatures, I have a ton of it outside of that, and I feel like the skills are transferring, albeit reluctantly. I didn't want to paint the grey knights grey or silver, as It seemed everyone and their mother did that. So I'm painting them blue instead, hence the army name. I plan on using a few henchmen squads as I have coteaz, though I have no idea yet what units and what models. Anyways, if anyone has tips, criticism and such, please throw it out there. Oh, and I'll be updating this thread as I finish more basic infantry, a rhino, and whatever else I decide to add.

I decided to try freehanding! I'm not the best at such a small scale, since I've never had to work this small before, but I'm fairly pleased for a first effort . the rhino is unpainted other than the freehand of course.

I like this, really original! Your freehand is pretty good, tbh. All I can say is maybe tone down your highlights.

I guarantee you that I'm not really as smart as the test says:

Your blue is very nice. Always cool to see alternate color schemes.

thanks for the feedback! i'll try being more subtle on the next model.
can anyone point me to a good tank weathering guide that doesn't involve buying powders, special washes, and stuff like that?

all that's left is the weathering! I'm intimidated to try it though, since i'm worried i'll ruin the model

Blue GK? That's new. But it's a really nice blue, and you do it really well. Really like the freehand too.

i'm debating using cadian kasrkins as warrior acolytes. anyone have thoughts on that?'

edit: and while i;m waiting for more models to arrive in the mail I may try making some objective markers or something.
