Finished up my Panthers last night. Not sure if I am crazy about the camo, but without an airbrush, I don't think I will ever be "happy". The important thing is they are done!

You don't need an airbrush, these look great. Not everyone likes soft-edge camo and at this scale it doesn't matter too much. A light drybrush (extremely dry mind you) with a light brown would bring out the highlights slightly and make you tanks look perfect.

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!

i agree - these look very good. I've never bothered attempting to airbrush small-scale models, and a lot of Panthers had hard-edged camo anyway. Only one query - did you paint the tyres? That's always the part of painting tanks that I hate.

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

Great job!

As someone with an airbrush who's tried soft-edge camo, it's VERY hard to get the hang of, any light feather-edged technique is. Just the other night, I finally got a passable smoke trail weathering on my Stuka...and I've been AB'ing for 2 years now!

You know, as I was painting the tires on my Marders after posting this picture, I was cursing myself realizing I didn't get them painted on these.

Not sure I'll go back and do them. Well I will, but I too hate tire painting. Its is a never ending back and forth trying to get "perfect" and not perfect is so noticeable with black.

I will say I am happier with these after my FLGS go the restock of Devlin Mud in. Basically I painted it twice. Once then a liberal coating of Mud and then back over it again to bring the color back up but still leave some muted edging.

Not sure if that is WWPD as the site it blocked from me at work and I'll have to look tonight, but I'm thankful what I have latched onto is repeatable by me!

Sexy. I love Panthers. I must detail mine, and I hope to get them as nice looking as yours.

Yeah I think we need a Panther parade thread, for everyone to put up their variations. Hell, we should do it for all tanks (Tigers, IS2's, Cromwells, etc)

Yeah these look sweet. You've got that tri-colour camo ratio spot-on.

Wasting my life away, one wargame at a time.
