Last bit for now is a reposed Typhus loosely based on his artwork in the chaos marines codex, shame he's not exactly a powerhouse in gaming terms but that's not everything right! I just love the cheeky look the sculptors gave that nurgling on his knee more angles in the spoiler section.

Spoiler:

More stuff on the way, but that'll have to go in my P&M blog!

Loving the paint jobs and really digging the OSL on the eyes of some of the Plague Marines, really gives off a "gas-mask horror" vibe!

Much appreciated! Figured I'd post finished stuff in here hopefully some more of the blog stuff will be real WIP soon

Well at least someone else likes it, I started off doing them as lenses and just didn't like them very much then gave that a go on one mini, I liked it so much I redid all of them with it.

Throwing out some more stuff that's done, first up a winged daemon prince:

Then some Plague Bearers, can't decide which technique I prefer to do these with the first one is simply skull white undercoat which is then painted entirely with washes apart from the metals, the second is chaos black built up to brighter greens with drybrushing. The third one is a mix of the two, genuinely surprised by the effect pure washes can give though.

Mmmmm yes I like all those too! And out of the techniques.... I think I like the first the best followed by the third and then the second. But that could be from me layering washes on my Nurgle Purge dreadnoughts..... Care to share how you did the plague marines and or Typhus? I ask because I have a Typhus model coming in the mail

I'm digging this army, how big are you painting it too?

The pen is mightier then the sword, but you must keep a sword handy for when the pen runs out of ink.

Love your Typhus' pose!

"As I looked into its dead black eyes, I saw the terrible sentience it had in place of a soul. Behind that was the steel will of its leader. Further still I could feel its primogenitor coldly assessing me from the void. And looking back from the furthest recesses of the alien's mind... I can only describe it as an immortal hunger. It is this we cannot kill."

good stuff all around, but I think the two green plaguebears look too.... healthy! I'd have mixed some brown to the greens to make them look sicker.

ut apart from that, its very well executed!

I'll probably do a painting thing on the P&M blog with the third squad I'm putting up soon as I've just about finished modelling them so they're in line for undercoating now.

Fattimus_maximus wrote:I'm digging this army, how big are you painting it too?

Well the plan is to paint pretty much every traitor legion, I just happened to start with deathguard, I've got some world eaters stuff in the works at the moment, and the bits for at least a few emperor's children and word bearers. Basically I'll just keep painting and modelling the whole pantheon of chaos till they stop making them. I'm currently working on a plague tower for apoc in the P&M thread too so it's got room to grow yet.

Thanks for all the other feedback too it's always nice to have some encouragement to keep you motivated!

Gotten a little more done, but preparing to move has somewhat eaten into hobby time!

Four members of squad 3 are now finished, might touch up the skin on the champion though not happy with it now it's been photographed:

My new favourite gribbly, much prefer the old beast of nurgle, bit of gloss on the mouth and eyes for slime.

Good looking update! I must say, I LOVE that first plama gun. It looks perfect!

If you're not happy about the skin, try a different way. I just bought some zombies and painted one to see how it looks. I basecoated him with vallejos dead flesh (i gues its the same at GW) and then applied a generous wash of ogryn flesh. While that was still wet, I put a few dots of thrakka green (also a wash) here and there. It blends really well and looks great. I'll share a link once I've posted it later today, if you're interested....
