I searched all around Dakka and I cannot find a tutorial on how to paint evil human skin and faces. Does anyone know how to do this and/or can I get a link to the proper tutorial? I realize I could just throw a coat of rotting flesh on there but I want to be a little more involved. thanks.

What kind of chaos flesh are you trying to do? You can go for rotting, or darker, or whiter too.

I use a bluish-grey tone, up through white, for the skin on my emperor's children army, which gives them a very pale and unhuman look.

I took a look at your army, very nice painting there. I was looking for something a little more human-like. These IG are just recently chaos so I was thinking a greenish tone would suit them. Although, I'm also open to more pallid off-white tones. Do you know of any tutorials, in Dakka or out?

I'd paint their flesh like you'd paint any other flesh then, and give it a very very light wash with whatever tone you choose to use just to give it that slight off-normal look. Really watering down rotting flesh would probably do the trick, although I'd think more about purple than green. Purple as an undertone on flesh will give it a sinister semi-sickly look.

But water it well down. It's meant to be subtle.

I use the technique that CMDante once showed in his blog. It's perfect if you ask me.
Here you can see how my guys turns out with this technique: http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/313599-Chaos%20marines%20scout1%28Jurah%20squad%29.html

I used Palid Flesh on mine:

Could add purple ink wash just under the eyes.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

Hope the user doesn't mind me posting his pic in this thread, but it struck me as a good look for chaotic humans, even if that wasn't his original intent.

The stark red-brown shading gives the skin a raw, chapped, and furrowed look that I found decidedly evil, but not entirely unnatural. Sort of a cross between Emperor Palpatine and Freddy Kreuger - if that doesn't scream "traitor," I don't know what does.

You can also do weird base color on the skin tone. Like Dark Green as basecoat, then paint the flesh as normal making sure that some of the basecoat can still be seen.

Rotting Flesh washed with Gryphonne Sepia and Leviathan Purple.

Or Adeptus Battle grey with the same washes.

Rotting Flesh or bleach bone with Sephia wash works very well! Be careful with leviathan purple though as its almost as unforgiving as using badab black... Also try using some brown washes but for sickly skin sephia and ogryn flesh works fantastic (most of my army is Death Guard/Nurgly)

I ended up going with a tallarn flesh base and then highlighting up through bleached bone with some camo green thrown in. The final affect is right on with what I was looking for. Thanks for all the suggestions guys!
