Hello!

This is actually my first post so hello everyone!
Im fairly new to 40k and i recently swapped my dark elves for Chaos Space Marines and im playing against regular Space Marines next saturday.
So i've made a list, but im looking for some advice to what to do differently or does my list suffice.

anyways, here goes

Daemon Prince

Wings
Mark of Slaanesh
Lash of Submission

Daemon Prince

Wings
Mark of Slaanesh
Lash of Submission

Plague Marines x10

Plague Champion
Power Fist
Flamer
Personal Icon
Rhino (twin-linked bolter)

Khorne Berserkers +10

Skull Champion
Power Weapon
Meltabombs
Personal Icon
Rhino (twin-linked bolter)

Chaos Space Marines x8

Obliterator Cult x2

Obliterator Cult x2

Obliterator Cult x1

Chaos Terminators x5

Heavy Flamer
Chainfist
Combi Melta x 4
Mark of Tzeentch

Chaos Dreadnought

Heavy Flamer
Plasma Cannon

He's going to be having alot of vehicles btw, so I (hopefully) made a good anti-tank list.

(I also have a Predator, 32 more regular marines, 4 bikers, 1 obliterator, 7 possessed marines and 2 sorcerers)

Any opinions? Should I do something differently?

Thanks

First off, individual point costs (for upgrades) aren't allowed (on any forum technically)

As for the list, a few things, which in my opinion will make it more capable.

HQ:
Lash Princes are pretty good, especially when your using template weapons (Oblit Plasma cannons or Vinidcator/Defiler big blasts), they also help bring the enemy closer to your assualty troops/units. So I would stick with the duel lash Princes at 1750.

Elite's:
Right, Dreads are ok, but I think they are best used with 2x CCW (and Heavy Flamer), and then take 2 or 3 of them. But they aren't the best choice in the codex unfortunately. Your terminators, could be pretty useful, but the 'competitive' way to run combi-meltas is in a squad of 3, with 3 combi-meltas, and maybe a chainfist. I think unless your running a lot of terminators, thats probably the best way to run them.

Troops:
10 Plagues is a bit overkill, for only 25 points more (taking of the Rhino bolter) you can get 2x 5 with 2 meltas each.
Zerkers, take a squad of 8, PW/MB is ok, but I personally always take a PF.
Your TL Bolters on the rhinos, aren't really necessary, unless you have nothing else to spend the points on. Also, personal icons, aren't a priority, but if your going to DS your termies, and Oblits, they are probably worth the points.
Your 8 man CSM, to be blunt, is pretty pointless. No transport, no special weapon. If you split your Plague squad like suggested, then you may have enough troops anyway. If not, another Plague or Zerker squad would be more worth while.

Heavy:
Unfortunately looking good (I don't like Oblits, but they are the best choice.) take the extra oblit, to make it 3x2.

Basically, taking 2x Lash Princes, 2x 5 Plagues in Rhinos, 1x8 Zerkers in rhino, 3x2 Oblits as a base, you can add most things from the codex, and have a fairly decent list. (I recommend Chosen, but they aren't necessary.)

rodgers37 pretty much nailed it.

Might as well have the two special toys, metlas being better than flamers. And rhinos ought not to have any points spent on them. Why do you have an icon? Is anything Deep Striking?

Hattifnazz wrote:Khorne Berserkers +10
I only ask, why is there an icon with them?

Hattifnazz wrote:Chaos Space Marines x8
Not being Fearless, these clowns need an icon for a Morale Re-roll. Also, nab a special toy, melta being best.

Give him EA so he can assault something if he gets Stunned.

Hattifnazz wrote:(I also have a ... 1 obliterator, Thanks
Add that oblit by trimming the PM crews down to 7 guys each and/or the Khorne boys could be busted down to 8 or 9, until you have enough for the 6th oblit.

Thank you for your feedback, i took your advice and modified my list abit. And sorry for posting the point costs before, sorted that out.

I hadn't any time to respond, but we did play on Saturday. We got annihilation and I pretty much annihilated my friends space marines.

I killed his whole army by turn 6, he had nothing on the table and I "only" lost my 2 daemon princes. That's all. But i didn't get to use Lash of Submission at all, which kinda sucked. He had almost all of his troops inside vehicles at the start.

So he got 2 kill points and I killed his whole army (got about 11-12 kill points), so the list played pretty well.

Oh and I deepstriked the Terminators using the Icons which worked out pretty well, got them both firing their combi meltas at a land raider after deepstriking.

Here's the complete list I played with:

Daemon Prince
- Wings
- Mark of Slaanesh
- Lash of Submission

Again, thanks for the feedback!

I like your list. Im not a fan of Plagues ( more of a Khorne guy ) but theyre definately good. Id still put a fist on the zerkers.

Who doesnt love the Berzerker song?

Looking pretty good. The single larger squad of terminators can work as well. I concur that the CSM could use an Icon of Glory, and I would go with a power fist on the Zerks, but what you've got now is definitely workable. I'm not sure whether the heavy flamer on the dread is likely to see use; usually those are more worthwhile on loyalist dreads which can use a Drop Pod for precisely arriving on the table right next to the enemy.
