Hello all. Apologies if I am posting this in the wrong forum section.

I recently bought and painted a Realm of Battle board (the guide on this sight is awesome, btw). After I finished it and set it up, I noticed that one of the hilled sections is not level -- the lowest corner of the tile actually is bowed up by about 1/2 an inch. Unfortunately, it's not subtle if that corner is near the center of the board, and since it's opposite of a hill, it significantly limits the number of configurations I can use the table in without having it stick up.

Does anyone have any idea how I could flatten the tile out? Presumably I'd need to apply heat in some fashion, but when I heat it up from the back, it seems to bow more, probably because the little support ridges are expanding.

Looking for any good ideas to help me get this thing flattened out. Thanks!

As i see it your options are:

take it back and ask for a tile replacement.
try and reshape, however this might be difficult (as you found out with the ridges).
try and identify which part of the tile is higher and hot glue something flat there to make it level.

I had the same problem with one of my tiles. I contacted GW customer service, provided them pictures and talked with a CSR a few times. Had a new piece about 2-3 weeks later.

I'd probably try to get it replaced. Even if you could manage to fix it yourself, it's not likely worth the effort compared to contacting GW customer support, which is usually quite good.

Gathering the Informations.

Replacement is your best option here.

Flattening it into shape would require using a blow dryer and something weighted, exact measurements to make sure it doesn't bow the piece, etc etc.

I would contact the vendor you bought it from and attempt to get it replaced. If they give you a replacement but leave the faulty one with you then I would clamp it to a flat surface (preferably not your kitchen table or anything of value) like a piece of nice flat plywood then apply the heat to the top surface, if it has bowed up the top has shrunk somehow you need to apply the heat to the right side to fix the problem....

I realise you have put time and materials into the tile already by painting it but I would try for a replacement before you attempt to fix it again as GW could possibly say you did the damage yourself and point out the evience of your attempts to fix the problem?

Hope that helps a little

Has there been any progress?

I believe this is what's called a bump?

i am interested in this too, my friend bought a RoBB and it arrived damaged in the corner of the hills. he took pictures and sent them to GW CS and they sent him flat tiles instead of replacement hills.
