It's been a while since I played WHFB and I was wondering if the Dogs of War Giant can still be used in other armies?
I'm thinking of having one in my VC army to add fun in bigger games.
The same with Ogres, when they first came out most of them chould be used as dogs of war in other armies too.
With the new codex, are Maneaters and the like still usable in other armies?

The Dogs of War in other armies options aren't really available anymore. You could probably sort something out with an opponent for fun. Can't really think of any model off the top of my head in the VC book that the Giant could "count as".

Thought so much.
I'm sure in bigger games, no one will mind a giant as a rare choice.
Just a shame that you can't have it in an "official" army.

Dogs of War doesn't exist anymore. All the Dogs of War entries were Erratted out of all the existing army books.
Thats officially anyway. A giant would be an ok thing in a casual game and I wouldn't be surprised if all of the new army books got access to one, with a few exceptions(like TKs and VCs, they don't really hire mercenaries)
5-1 the new Empire book has the Giant as a Rare choice.

Locally we've talked about playing a couple larger games, around 5,000, with an additional 1,000 points or so of Storm of Magic Monsters without the modifications to the magic rules.
That'd allow you to take a giant in a normal army.

As long as we get our halflings back I don't mind. If we get Ogres as a rare choice I'd be over the moon. A giant would just be a nice extra bonus.

They would have to be expensive. Like +25% more expensive Maneaters.
