TL;DR: What "phase" is the beginning of the turn?

FAQ: Chrono can reroll night fighting if the cryptek is in imotekh's unit.

N5ed Codex: Lord of the storm rolls for night fighting at the beginning of each turn.

N5ed Codex: Chronometron allows the reroll of one d6 every phase

Rulebook: 3 phases, movement, shooting, assault.

Lord of the storm:
It seems pretty clear to me that I could reroll nightfighting, and then reroll lightning hits. What isn't so clear to me is what "phase" the reroll is for the night fighting rules. If the FAQ had said you couldn't reroll those rolls then I would have assumed it fell outside the "phases" wording... now I'm all mixed up.

If my friend asks about the rules I want to be able to explain it fully, at the moment I'd just assume since the movement phase is the first phase for every turn, regardless of who is going first, you would count the reroll as being placed in the "first turn's movement phase."

So if my friend went first I could:

turn 1 assault phase 2 (my phase): reroll a difficult terrain assault d6.

<end turn 1>

turn 2 movement phase 1(his phase): reroll to extend night fighting.
turn 2 shooty phase 1: reroll a reanimation protocol.
turn 2 assault phase 1: reroll a transmog's crucible (in the same group).

turn 2 movement phase 2 (mine): reroll a d6 "run" roll.
turn 2 shooty phase 2: reroll a lightning hit roll.
turn 2 assault phase 2: reroll a difficult terrain assault d6.

<end turn 2>

turn 3 movement phase 1 (his): reroll to extend night fighting.

ect.

There is no phase before the movement phase, so generally speaking effects which happen at the start of the turn happen at the very beginning of the movement phase.

Just a note, unless there is some special rule working for you a run happens during the shooting phase.

before a turn has no phase.

a chronometron has specific ruling in the codex to let you reroll of d6 every phase.

technically RAW before the faq the chronometron would not work.

The faq gave it an exception to work, even though it does not happen during one of the phases listed in the main rule book.

you can of course only reroll 1 roll in the shooting phase which would be 1 chance to hit with lightning or 1 successful lightning strike d6 reroll of how many models are hit.

It didn't work before the FAQ because it didn't belong to Imhotek.
Now it does, so it works.
There is no "before a turn" - it's at the beginning of the movement phase of that turn.

As above. At the start of the turn is == at the start of the movement phase.
