Ok so I'm just getting back into playing after like 14 years lol. So what I'd like is some criticism of my list and what to go after next? My goal of this army is to be a mostly footslogger non daemon army. I know chaos without daemons isn't ideal but whatever.

1 squad 10csm (to be converted to plague marines)
1squad 10csm with heavy weapons (2xlas cannon, 2x missile launcher,)
17 khorne berzerkers
Elite
3 terminators(H.Flamer, lclaw, power fist)
Fast attack
8 raptors (2 meltas, 1 dual LC)
Dedicated transports
rhino.

My next 3 purchases are probably gonna be an
hq(DP, term lord, or something else)
Another rhino
And some obliteraters.
After playing my first game this past weekend I realize I need more protection for my berzerkers, and more tank busting. Any help or advice is much appreciated.

DP is a must! Obliterators are good if you field 4 or more. Defiler is a devastating Anti personal weapon when used with Lash of Submission. Put Plasma Guns on your Plagues and Meltas on your regular CSMs. Put a Chainfist and 3 combi meltas on your termies and use them as a termicide squad. Get lots of Rhinos and put combi meltas on those too.

I'd wait for any major purchases, scuttle butt says new dex is around the corner.

I'm not purchasing more units for my CSM until further news on the Chaos Legion codex either at the moment.

You cant really go wrong with another Rhino though.

Yah my goal was just to get a few more things then finish painting and assembling. while I wait for a new dex/6th edition. I'm pretty sure right now I have it narrowed to another rhino, and a few obliteraters. And then I'll be done for a while minus bits/magnets and crap for a few termies. I figure most of the basic cult troops should be safe for an update.

Rhinos. Who knows, obliterators may be nerfed. Rhinos, however, never go out of style.

yeah, it's best to wait.

However, from personal experience, chaos terminators don't hold up that well...

I keep hearing that about csm termies. Which makes me sad cause I love terminators. I'll probably continue to employ a termicide unit of 3 though. And now I'm nervous to get obliteraters haha. Maybe just 2 more rhinos and a sorcerer.

My 1k list from this weekend was as follows

Kharn
10 berzerkers (champ with fist, melta bombs)
10csm (plas, H.Bolter, champ with PF, and melta bombs)
6raptors(2 melta, champ with dual LC and melta bombs)
3 terms(h.flamer/LC, power fist, 2combimelta, 3 champs)

I beat 1k worth of guard this weekend in annihilation 6-3. His leman Russ whatever variant completely routed me first turn till I got my raptors to it. Then I took over after killing his tank.
