After getting stuck in with WHFB this past year, i've been tempted over to 40k in 2012.

I did originally attempt a 40k army last year, back with the first wave of DE, but before i'd gotten too far I ended up switching over to WHFB (I blame it on my friends xD). This time though, to make sure i actually started playing 40k, a bunch of friends conspired for a birthday bonanza; one which left me with just over 1000pts of marines.

The chapters been decided, Sons of Medusa - for a bit of a change from the usual (that and i've always kinda preferred the "vanilla" marine chapters).

So hopefully the blog should be updated every few days, i'm starting with the basics for the first few models, mainly paint work rather than conversion to finalize a paint scheme.

As it stands the paint scheme is a base of bright scorpion green, chaos black trims, boltgun matalics, and white helm / chest eagles / “features”

Now for an actually Wip pic, first up the Chapter master sporting mostly complete pauldron ^^

And for those who are curious, the army so far (a unit of assault termies will be joining the lonely chaplain before too long ^^).

Comments welcome as always, upcoming projects in the next few weeks include a conversion beamer conversion for the master of the forge 

Always been a fan of alternative chapters to the usual too, looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Tonights work, more chapter master, blocked in most of the rest of the base colour and tarted up the base a little

I love the vibrant green on the chapter master...

Got a little more time last night to work on the Chapter master , layered up some of the thinner areas of green (turns out scorpion green covers about as well as skull white *sigh*) and worked on the tabard and chest. Going to start posting images in spoilers too, rather than spamming the thread with large images xD

He's looking good so far. I really like the base. At this stage he still looks flat though. I'm sure he'll look great after you finish shading and highlighting his armor.

Yeah was a little worried about the 'flatness' of the green, think some more extreme highlighting will fix that hopefully ^^
