Hi, I'm rather new to 40k and have been going through my codex like crazy and am loving da boyz and the utter brutality they bring on the table and in the fluff. But I'm going through the galaxy map in the book of all the active WAAAGH!!' I'm noticing an unnamed area of heavy ork infestation by the galactic core is that just open by GW for anyone to just speculate on or is it something special.

Also is it too far fetched to think that the WAAAGH!! that went into the eye of terror could have led to "chaos orks".... seems a little bit of a double negative I know but could there be such a thing considering that when orks die they reproduce aswell.

You know the compensation saying: the size of a man's car is inversely proportional to the size of his reproductive hardware?

In 40K the same can be applied to ordinance

The area of heavy Ork infestation at the galactic core is open to the player's imagination, as far as I know.

On the subject of Chaos Orks, the Ork psyche is built a lot like most of their technology - simple and rugged. They have their own little pantheon of gods (Gork and Mork) and don't seem too interested in worshiping even them. I believe there used to be Chaos Orks way way back in the day of Rogue Trader in the 80's - early 90's, but they haven't been mentioned since.

I had a little Nurgle Ork warband, back when.

Of all the Chaos Powers Nurgle would be the most likely to work with orks, butn there's not any recent fluff regarding chaos and orks interacting like that.

Wierdboy Warpheads were originally wirdboys that had had a Daemon attempt to possess them and create a gate into the materium (as they usually do) only to find themselves stuck inside the ork's skull instead, trapped

The main reason that i think there are no chaos orks is because the orks usually only listen to beings that are the right "shade of green" which are Gork and Mork anyway it is mho that the large population of orks that are near the center of the universe are just waaghs that have run out of enemies to kill and so they are just sittin there pumpin out orks cause the world they have isnt that important to the imperium to trie to fight the orks over it!!

orkz are da best!!!

Ah cool, makes sense would be kinda cool to see mishapen orks with gigantic rending claws and an even more massive underbite and more limbs that would make tyranids blush.
and @ khorne I will make sure to but all I have to play against is tyranids and tau for right now not till I get back to da states.
btw my buddy seems to really enjoy the tau even though they cant get anything done with cc why are tau so meek and tiny

I've always thought that Orks were too dumb to worship chaos. Each race has its own set of gods, anyway, that they naturally gravitate to. The Emperor and the gods of chaos are basically human dieties, with the exception of slaanesh, which works with elves too. But you never hear anything about Tzeentch elves, for instance, even though they're very psychically gifted. Orks who wander into the eye of terror get wiped out. Or get wiped out, then resurrected, just for the pleasure of wiping them out again. That's pretty much all there is to it. The Eye of Terror is demon, human, and sometimes elf territory.

I get that but what im getting at is that there was a WAAAGH!! that went into the eye of terror, said WAAAGH!! fights chaos, ork dies releasing spores on the planet. Am I wrong in thinking that the spores mature even in the warp?

What about those 'mutant orks' that were floating around about the time of the eot campaign?

And Oromë loved the Quendi, and named them in their own tongue Eldar, the people of the stars.

I dont know. The warp is a mysterious place. I imagine they grow up healthy and strong and then get killed by whatever supernatural horrors are lurking on the planet they live on. But then I'm a chaos player so I may have a biased perspective

you dont think the orks would absorb any of the warp powers while gestating?

eh. I dont remember ever reading about any race but humans being mutated by the warp. Although maybe it's out there and I just haven't seen it. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't worship chaos gods though. Wherever there is an ork... there is Gork. Or possibly Mork. They have their own gods.

But in 40k aren't all gods just imaginings of beings in the warp kept alive by belief anyway. Plus the dex says Gork an' Mork are warp entities.

If you want to model mutant orks, do it. It's not like the GW police are going to come get you. There aren't any chaos orks in the fluff that I can remember reading about, that's all.

I would think that a clever demon or entity of some sort would think to appear to the orks as Gork or Mork...thus becoming more powerful from the waaaagh's psychic energy...

It's not that they're stupid, it's that Chaos doesn't offer the Orks anything that they want. Ork psychology doesn't particularly care about death, they can get all the fighting they could want just hanging with other Orks, Orks don't really plot or scheme and their psyker power is basically self generated by the Waaagh, and the closest they get to Slaanesh is their facination with dakka and sometimes speed, neither of which are really Slaanesh's gig.

Orks are basically the most psychologically healthy race in 40k and that doesn't leave a lot of ways for Chaos to get its hooks into them.
