How would you go about getting the rods out of the monolith?
I'm going to replace them with red, but I want to do it without breaking the box of doom open.

Drill them out. Dremel tool is probably right for this.

You should be able to pop them out.
They aren't secured by more than little nubbins unless you have poly cemented them in or concreted with superglue.
