Hey guys I am very tempted to scrap all of my GW bases for some Secret Weapon Runic Mountain bases. I sort of just carelessly popped a guy off of one and it ended up taking the base with it still attached to the feet if that makes sense. Anyone do this before and if so.... was it worth it?

Thanks!

May the WAAC and pretzels be with you.

I have done it before. I guess if you don't want to use the normal bases or use other bases it would be worth it unless you don't want to ruin a bunch of blank bases. In my case it was worth it but I guess it just depends on what you want to do in the end.

What kind of joint are we talking about? Plastic models properly glued with model cement? You're kind of screwed, you'll need a saw to cut them off. Super glue? Put them in the freezer then try to break the feet loose with pliers. Metal minis will come right off, you might take some broken foot casualties from plastic or resin

Funny I'm about to scrap all of my Secret Weapon bases for Dragon Forge bases...

My experience with Secret Weapon bases - too many bubble craters and they are impossible to balance. The GW (or dragon forge) bases for example have a beveled edge - where the bottom is wider than the top... so the model balances easier. The SW bases just go straight down, and they are taller too... I spent many many hours on my Dante who has had two critical falls now - both requiring new paint jobs.
