Hello to everyone I am a dedicated chaos player been playing chaos since 3rd edition. Mainly chaos space marines but after my recent return to the hobby I've decided to start a daemons army, only problem is im not sure what good for a tournament based daemons list. So i need a bit of advice from all of you what is the most competitive 1500pts chaos daemons army list. Any suggestions? I do own a few models (10 Bloodletters, 10 daemonettes, 10 horros). thanks in advance to all whom read this

A lot of this depends on your local Meta and what your playstyle happens to be. That said here is the core of the most competitive Daemons list

HQ - Fateweaver (higher points add Bloodthirster/Keeper/Tzeetch chariots w/ bolt and MoS
Elite - 0-3 units of 8x Crushers w/ full kit, 0-3 units of 6x Fiends (adding these together should be >2)
Troops - 0 - 4 units of 5x Horrors w/ Bolt (one with changeling), 0-2 units of 5x Plague Bearers

You should be able to easily fill out the force org with this setup and it is the most purely powerful. I generally run a list w/o Fateweaver (he is REALLY powerful and I prefer to play without him most of the time)

HQ - 200
Herald of Tzeetch on Chariot w/ Bolt, MoS
Herald of Tzeetch on Chariot w/ Bolt, MoS

Elite - 565
6x Crushers Icon, Instrument
6x Fiends
3x Flamers

Troops -409
12x Daemonettes
9x Horrors w/ Bolt
5x Horrors w/ Bolt

Heavy Support 320
2x Soul Grinders w/ Phlegm

I think that is 1501 (so just over the top, but I try to stick to sacred numbers as much as possible). The exception is the crushers (I only own 6 right now) and the 5x Horrrors (9x of these is alot to take). I also avoid special characters in most cases.

I like that list a lot for a few reasons. It does not really 'spam' any units, which makes it pretty flexible when played. It presents a large number of diverse threats and the Flamers/SG encourage opponents to spread out, which makes it easier to avoid their small arms shooting.

The only tweak I would make to it would be to lose Gaze on the Slaanesh chariot (she is Fleet and you want to get her into CC). I would then put Fury on a Crusher instead.

That said I would not call it the 'most powerful' list, but it is definitely strong. If you want to ramp up 'pure power' I would swap the Slaanesh for another Tzeetch Herald and then drop 2 crushers plus the flamers for another 6 Fiends. Another weakness is in the troops, you could swap in 2x PB's for the Horrors to get a more durable unit onto objectives.

The transition to 1850 with this list is pretty straightforward - add Kairos! If you do, then I would consider moving out the grinders for 2x Daemon Princes (since they have good synergy with Kairos).

--I have run a Slaanesh chariot for a while. Recently I have gotten away from it but it is a 5 wound model with T4 4+/5++ and I normally drop an icon on it but forgo Musk. It is scary fast and tends to draw a lot of shooting due to the icon.
