I finished it recently and as usual, have a few questions. I seem to read quickly and miss details, and here are some gaps I hope you can help me fill in... How did the Iron Priest Arfang die? He was counted among the fallen heroes but I don't recall his demise. Also, it said something about the blade Dausvyer, the power sword that Redpelt got from Helfist (who originally got it from Brakk) having a "powerful word set upon it," setting it up as though it holds some merit in 40k lore. I apologize ahead of time if it's a widely known fact, it TRY and stay abreast of background but it escapes me at times. Anyways, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Well if it's any consolation, I don't remember any of that... O_O
looks like another trip to the library!

It's bothering me, I can't tell if I just can't find his death in the book or if it was left out for dramatic effect...

Well, accounts were pretty good up until Magnus appeared and then it gets pretty hectic. IIRC, more then a few dreadnoughts got completely obliberated once Magnus showed up. Maybe that is when he got killed.

That's what I assume as well. Kind of odd though. Regardless? Do you know why Dausvyer is a power sword of any significance?

I think that is yet to be revealed. However, I need to go back and check the Ragnar series to see if any reference is made to it with the Thousand Sons sorcerer who ends up being Ragnars nemisis.
