So.. I've finally got my hands on a good librarian model to kit out as an epistolary for my 'nilla SM army.

Unfortunately, his staff is bent. Downright crooked, in fact.

I'm aware that you can repair pewter (which I'm assuming it is) without fatiguing it by heating it in boiling water; however, the methods I'm familiar with are intended for objects on the scale of cups and bowls. I'm afraid I might smudge other details on the model while straightening the damaged segment.

Has anyone else dealt with problems of this sort, and can you offer any suggestions?

I dunno... I imagined the sept guarding the Perdus rift would wear the same black armour as Ulthwe eldar. Maybe being in close proximity to the warp makes you emo.

If it is metal you can simply bend it back but it sounds like you have a resin model. If it is resin then just run it under hot tap water for a short amount of time and it should let you bend it back in place. I actually had to do this for my Libby for my Blood Angels.

It's not resin. It's metal. Resin isn't dense, hard, and naturally metallic silver. : P

Bending it back may work, but it would also fatigue the metal. I want to use this piece on the tabletop, and I'm afraid that a weakened area might deform again due to handling after being painted.

Hmmm yeah it is possible then that it may just get weaker. I have had a handful of metal minis with similar issues and I was able to bend it back without any weakness problems.

Maybe a pic to see how bad it is would help. If not I am not sure I can be of much help. sorry
