I am running this list for local tourneys and pick up games alike. I'm not super competitive, but I want to win at least once and a while!! Anyways, as a break from my normal play style (LoganWing), I decided to build this list to showcase the TWC that we have been waiting two long years for. This should be a good time!!

Wolf Lord
-Runic Armor
-Frost Blade
-Storm Shield
-Thunderwolf Mount
-Saga of the Bear/Warrior Born (I can't decide...)

Thunderwolf Cavalry (3)
-Stormshield/Chainsword
-Stormshield/Chainsword/Melta Bomb
-Stormshield/Thunder Hammer
-Wolf Lord joins this Pack

Grey Hunter Pack (5)
-Melta Gun
-Razorback with TL Las Cannon

Grey Hunter Pack (5)
-Melta Gun
-Razorback with TL Las Cannon

Grey Hunter Pack (5)
-Melta Gun
-Razorback with TL Las Cannon

Wolf Guard Pack (3)
-3x Power Fist
-3x Combi-Melta
-One WG joins each GH pack

Long Fack Pack (6)
-3x Plasma Cannon
-2x Heavy Bolter
-Razorback with TL Assault Cannon

Long Fang Pack (6)
-5xMissile Launcher

Comments, Criticisms?? Thanks in advance!!

Can you hear the call of the North Star?
Feel its longing in your heart
This bond is eternal sworn through blood
At the end we will stand as one!
Even if the daylight dies
Our horde marches on and on
If we should fall down to the ground
We'll rise again and never give up!

On the Lord, that would be Saga of the Bear that you want to take so that you can run him off into Force Weapon toting units without much fear of losing him to just one wound.

I wouldn't really bother with the Wolf Guard in this list as you're not going to want to have those Grey Hunters in CC so the Power Fist isn't doing you any good. Add in the fact that they're not shooting out of the top of the Razorback and you'll see the diminishing return.

At this point, I would probably go with all missile launchers, it really boils down to opinion and what you're facing but the Missiles would be more advisable as the Thunderwolves can take care of the Infantry side of business.

Dropping the Wolf Guard, you should be able to afford another Razorback for the 2nd Long Fang Pack and be good to go.

Thanks for the reply Unholy_Martyr. Your points are all good and I agree with them all. I forgot to mention that I do indeed face off against several 'horde' armies on a semi-regular basis, so that was the reasoning behind the HB and AC RB.

I completely looked past the no fire points on the RB things, so the WG will go indeed. And for 75 points I can give the second LF pack a RB with enough points to fill out the GH packs up to 6 leaving me 9 points... I hate that.

I like the Saga of the Bear better as well, and investing that many points in one model, I should protect it as much as I can, but I have use the Warrior Born and just raped troops with it. I suppose that with the 'Star' behind him, those extra attacks are moot.

I would leave the packs at 5 and use the points for other things really. In this case, I would complete the Star with 1 more Thunderwolf and enjoy 14 attacks on the charge at I4

You have plenty of anti-troop. Saga of the Warrior won't be that helpful. And actually, I've noticed that a lot of the time my TWC wipe the unit they charged and spend the next turn in the open. Renders that Saga useless.

Likewise, I'd go with the Missile Launchers. They can pull double duty as anti-infantry and anti-tank for when you face hordes. Also, if you still want to take HB/AC Razorbacks, take 'em on the Grey Hunters. You tend to be more aggressive with your troops than the Long Fangs, so it'll see better use there. Maybe not, just how I roll.

Needs more missiles. 15 total troops??

15 Troops is no big deal...you learn fast that objectives don't matter when you can kill everything.

I'm not too worried about three packs of troops. They have to get through my RB first (yeah, I know that's not too tough...) but it does act as an additional layer of armor for the unit. Kill everything indeed!!

I didn't think about putting the AC on the GH packs, great suggestion!!

As for the Saga's, I am most definitely going with the Bear on this one.

I'd drop the frost blade for a wolf claw and take a wolf tail talisman for some anti-psyker protection but otherwise it looks solid for 1500pts.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

I dropped the Melta bomb off of the TWC with BP/CCW for the WTT, thanks for pointing that out. I forgot about adding that to the Lord.

I am hesitant about swapping the FB for a WC, although I guess the re-rolls are good. I just wanted to kill T3 critters right off.

I think he was referring to Scarabs...its nice to kill 3-4 bases at a time as compared to one and a half.

Aren't SoB T3?? I guess I am not sure as to all of what is T3. Either way, I think for now that I will switch to the Wolf Claw.

Thanks Liturgies of Blood.

Sisters of Battle are indeed Toughness 3 as well. Though you won't see many of them around.

I can't remember the last time I played a game where I had to deal with a swarm model and it was 3rd ed last time I fought against sisters of battle. I think you won't see them on the table much until Jes Goodwin finally finishes those plastics.

There is a SoB player in at my LGS, so I see them more often than you would expect!!

I switched to the Wolf Claw after all, gave the Lord the WTT and also gave the MB back the the 'bare' TWC.

I am gearing this list to go up to 2K right now. I have added at 1750:
Rune Priest
-CotS
-2 powers, most likely Living Lightning and Murderous Hurricane

Grey Hunters (7)
-Flamer
-Rhino

This is exactly 250 points, gives me some long range fire power, and anti-psycher tech as well. The addition of another tank can also help get the 'Star" where in needs to be with some additional cover, not that I think it needs that!!
What are your thoughts on my addition, and what would you add to take the list up to that 2K level??
