So, who thinks it's heresy and who's all up for it? Personally, I think it's a great way to get a totally unique model. If anyone has any pictures then feel free to post them. I'll get the ball rolling. I'm converting the 2008 Gamesday captain into my own take of Captain Fabian of the Ultramarines 3rd Company, I'm pretty happy with the result so far.

I like it so far

Personally I don't see an overall issue with it, but I wouldn't actually modify a limited run model unless I had 2 of them.

Yeah, go for it - it's your model. I have no problem with it. Everything gets discontinued eventually - I have plenty of old models that are no longer available, and nobody would say I couldn't convert them.

Why should it be different for 'limited run'

I stumbled across a 25th anniversery model at my store today by pure luck, and am thinking of doing some minor conversion work on him once i have him (hes set aside untill i get some money). Im not such a fan of the power fist, so i might switch that out for something else while trying to keep the feel of the model the same.

Many 'limited' figures are not actually that short in supply.

I think you should think twice about hacking up something like a Baby Zoat though because there's only a handful in existence.

I agree with Howard. As someone who does a ton of buying and reselling I see a ton of LE models. Almost every time I buy a complete army I end up with a LE model.

If a model is made 10,000 times it is hardly rare. Personally I think most LE models that sell on ebay are way overvalued.
