We have just released out 15mm barrier fence gatehouse and corner towers. They are available here: http://corseceng.com/barrier-fence

We have upscaled the design for 28mm using 1/8" rods instead of 1/16" Initial tests are done and we will be pushing these to production. Should be available in a few weeks.

The gatehouse is not pictured yet because it is in the process of being painted. They come unassembled and are made from clear acrylic. You can order them with or without rods. You can get a very different look by swapping out the clear rods for fluorescent or wood. Brass and aluminum are also great replacement options.

They are not done yet. I still have a lot of weathering to do but they are not clear.

I needed something to show off the design so I can list them in the store without waiting for me to get the time to finish the paint job.

I think you should of made the rods go vertical instead of horizontal. Just seems like them being horizontal just makes them a giant ladder for getting over them.

The concept was inspired by Terra Nova and Jurassic Park. Dinosaurs don't climb It also makes good bug defense.

There is a scene in the first episode were the main character climbs the fence to clean it off. So I guess you could climb it.

I designed it around the concept that they are light weight and quickly erected for basic defense around supply depot and forward command posts.

Some people are swapping out the clear acrylic rods for fluorescent ones. Looks like plasma or lasers.

You could also add razor wire to give it a nastier look.

It's a cool idea, but it will definitely need some upmodeling to make it really shine.

The fences I like. Yes, a vertical rod version would be nice too, although obviously that would mean a whole separate design.

Not keen on the corner towers though:
- two steel rods on the crowsnests won't give much cover against bullets presuming most customers will be using these for wargaming. I'd prefer them without the crowsnests.
- and they're very plain. Painted up as concrete, that makes some sense and could look good, but otherwise they just look underdetailed.

I approve.

Yes, they're very undetailed, yes, they look like something you can knock up in ten minutes with some balsa wood and a drill, but they're also cheap, dirt cheap, so as far as quick and easy terrain goes, they're perfect

Then again, the site lists them as 15mm terrain, the thread title says 28mm, which is it? (or are they two different kits, in which case the 28mm one is likely to be more expensive)

Right now just 15mm. The 28mm is a preview. We did a small run of the 28mm to prove the design at the larger scale and now we have to do a production run before we can release them.

but otherwise they just look underdetailed.

The concept for the design was a simple cheap fence system to throw on the table and enjoy. It is also a frame that can modified to add a lot of great character and detail without to much trouble.

These would be just fine for me. I dont need my game table to look like a Forgeworld diorama.

Given the cheap price, yeah, i guess the undetailed look is pretty reasonable. But I'd love to see what some customers come up with in the way of added detail, these fences could be 'raw material' for some fab looking scenery.

We don't have a final cost for the 28mm stuff but it isn't much more then the 15mm stuff. I'll know more next week.

I recent customer asked for enough to make a 1' square complex in 15mm.

10 x sections
1 x gatehouse
4 x tower

Total was under $30

Each 15mm section is 3" long. They are 6" in 28mm so you can cover more ground with less uprights. You can also order them without the rods and roll your own custom lengths. You could easily do a foot or more between sections if you used metal tubing or rod.

Seem good for cheap terrain. I would probably pop a corrugated sheet in front of the the bars to make an actual wall. The crow's nests do seem awfully small and exposed, though. And seems like they should have a ladder or something to get up there! Something like

I'm working on adding bits like ladders and a guard shack style add-on to the towers. The original was designed for 15mm and it is hard to get those details to work in the smaller scale. Our first priority was the 15mm scale one. The 28mm version will probably get more added over time.

You can also order them without rods so it would be easy to use the supports and use some mesh for chain link fencing.
