about a year ago me and a few mates had an idea for making a First-Person shootter In the Warhammer 40k universe. The game would be based around the 1st,2nd and 3rd Armageddon. My mate's idea was to play as an Ork boy. and my Idea was to play as an Imperial Guardsman. We had gotten up to the similarites it would share with such games as COD series or Battlefield series. But we found it to be difficult to fit in with the current layout of the Armageddon Wars. Since then he has lost quite a bit of interest in Warhammer 40k to prusue his interest of WoW. To summerise all of this the reason for why I have put this idea forward is because this website has more than enough people to comment and critise the idea of this game. all comments and critism will be taken and noted

1st War- Armageddon is invaded by a massive force of Kornate worshippers under the leadership of Angron the Daemon Primarch. Rupulsed after a major battle where the Space Wolves chapter took leadership and Angron was vanquished. All chaos forces killed to a man. All remaining citizens or troops kept in labour camps and force to spend the rest of their lives working.
2nd War- Armageddon is invaded by Waaaagh Thrakka. Eventually repulsed after heroic sacrifice by the citizens of Armageddon and remaining Ork forces are hunted down and burnt out.
3rd War- Armageddon is once again invaded by Waaagh Thrakka. Still on-going.

Now i can get how an Imperial Guardsman would be present throughout but you wouldn't be able to have an Ork Boy throughout.

Also would it not be better to have differences from CoD and BF rather than similarities?

Personally I'd prefer to see something more like Star Wars Battlefront but with vehicles being harder to get (Or some levels being only vehicles and others only infantry) Same with being SM (Some levels you are SM other levels you're IG) and characters being really hard to get (Turn up once a match and don't come back after they die)

I am guessing that this game could not have really taken off.
I would also like to add that a topic that I had comment on earlier I am not from aussie (common mistake for people from around the world).

No. Please not another CoD or BF clone. Let CoD and BF be CoD and BF.

If you are going to copy something, copy something interesting at least like stalker, which is a much better realistic shooter imo. Its actually interesting to play through for one thing.

I actually think a Warhammer 40,000: Battlefront would make for an awesome game. Especially if they adapted in the galactic conquest mode (maybe sized it down to sector conquest).

Planetside + 40k = WIN + $$$.

If they should make a 40k FPS it SHOULD be done like Planetside.

1. it already has multifaction combat with conquerable bases and territory

2. it already has an exp system so you can learn to use different weapons, armor, wargear and vehicles.

3. it already has a command exp system that lets you run squads and call down airstrikes and ion beams.

4 it already RIPS OFF 40k so some stuff is already done for you.
