So i was putting together a list for a white scars army and i was looking at the models on GW.


At first I found the White Scars Commander ( http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440271a&prodId=prod810030a ) and thought nothing of it, obviously putting two and two together and assuming that it was Khan. As i was looking around for the chaplain on the bike and found another model named Kor'sarro Khan ( http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440271a&prodId=prod2080006 ) ; However, he isnt on a bike and by looking at it the wargear doesnt list moondrakken. ( though it is just an option. )

Im assuming it doesnt matter which one you use even though having the on foot model with the moondrakken option is a bit hilarious. So whats the call on this one?

Yeah, its another codex/models sham by GW. Releasing great options in the codex without the models to represent them. Kor'sarro is one step further, because they give you a model, thats pointless to field without his bike! You could buy him, chop him in half and spend loads of time and energy converting a cool bike for him but it all seems a bit pointless.

You might be confused by the whole 'Khan' thing, I think in the White Scars fluff 'Khan' is the equivilant of 'Captain' or 'Tribal leader', so Khan isn't Kor'sarro Khan's surname, its his rank.

The on foot Kor'sarro has moonfang but no bike and the bike one has the bike but not moonfang. Should it just be generalized and accepted that the On bike 'Kor'sarro' is alright to use?

I've always felt that in these cases, it's left to the player.
Comparative example would be a Chapter Master with a Bike, Relic Blade, Artificer Armour and Master-Crafted Combi-Melta.
There's no model for that, is there?

The fact that Khan is pretty useless without Moondrakkun is a relevant point but shouldn't stop you from having some fun making your own model to represent him. Look at this situation as a opportunity to create an awesome model that represents Kor'sarro on Moondrakkun with Moonfang.

GW like to drop the ball on that sort of thing, sadly. It pretty much makes the Kor'sarro on on foot model worthless, which is a shame as it's a lovely sculpt.

Good Point. Alright so ill toss this up to being able to use the bike model. You are right though, converting the Khan onto a bike would be a fun old time to make but i should probably take that to a sculpting thread to get some ideas.

Alright, So the the assumed ruling on this is gonna have to be that Kor'sarro is useless on foot so the White Scars commander bike model is eligible to take the foot-slogging models place.

Just because there's a model for him doesn't mean you have to use it. As long as you use a model with the right stuff and point out who it represents you'll be golden. Besides, who actually recognizes all special character models anyway?
