Subject: Question about Orks

Hey guys,
I'm pretty new to 40k, and after a few army tries, i've decided that my heart lies with the Greenskins. I've got the Black Reach force + 16 snap-fast Ork Boyz, and I'm going up against +-600pts of CSM (termie lord, CSM and Khorne Berzerkers). I'd like to add Killa Kanz or Lootas. can't buy both of them, so what do you guys suggest? one of the two, or something else?

Well, Lootas are much more useful and survivable when you can get a big squad. If you can only get one then go for a Killa Kans box.

Kans are going to be more fun to build, paint, and play.
Lootas have tons of value tactically.
Honestly, I'd go Kans unless you were planning on buying up at least 15 lootas.

Which is where it should lie
Kans. They'll be able to do things your boyz cannot. Lootas are just ork boyz with better guns.

Kans is my suggestion to you. You can always build a list around cans, Kan wall, and, it is fun to play. Lootas are good to, but, a pure support role.

Kans are the best, the armor of a dread, but the ballistic skill of a grot. Grotzookas and rokkits are the way to go, though.

Kans,
Add a Big Mek with a KFF to your force while you're at it.
You'll be glad you did.

The problem with the Loota boy box is that you only actually get 4 loota boyz from it. The rest of the box are burna boy bits and a mek, which wouldn't really help you at this point. With orks being more about the number of bodies, you would need a couple of loota boy boxes to really get much use out of them. The Killa Kans boxes however come in a full squad with all the options (I believe so anyways).
So if you are looking at which GW box to buy first, the killa kans will be a better value at this point. You would need multiple boxes of loota boys to really get their true power, through most people just build their own lootas from extra bits they have laying about.

The Kans come with three Kans and one of each ranged weapon option.
So, when you buy a box of three Kans, you get the following.
Grotzooka (Template)
Rokkit launcha
Big shoota
Skorcha (Template)
KMB
Note that you get ONE of each, meaning, if you wanted to load all three Kans with Rokkits, you'd need to purchase the bits, or convert some yourself.
Same goes for every other option.
This is all assuming you play people, or you yourself insist on wysiwyg.
