Ok, so as most of you know this is a Commision to clean up old models. I have left the old Photos of the sceme befor this one to compare. Please let me know what you think.

Well the painting is good, but I find that the two colors you have chosen as bases are too close together on the color wheel and get lost in each other. I think you may need to add a color that stands out a bit more. Maybe go bleached bone with white highlights on the armor (probably want to avoid washing it too) and your brown on the fatigues? Since this is a commission did your customer suggest what he might like in a paint scheme or has he given you free reign? I would ask him what his favorite colors are or what his ideal tau colors would be and go from there perhaps.

It seems to fit what I would consider a "normal" Tau scheme, however, it seems almost mono-chromatic
I'd suggest maybe making the seals(caste symbols or whatever) something that maybe "pops" out a bit more, perhaps highlight the visor sensors some more?

I agree, it is just very plain. While up close you can see the small accents and such, on the table top a squad will simply look like a brown mass.

Maybe some night-visionish green for the visor sensors.

The customer gave free reign, but I always paint one and see what they think. He likes it, just because it is a massive improvement from there past paint jobs. I was thinking that the brown bleds to much with the kaki, so if I do the pants black maby? I also like the Green idea, that would make it pope really well. I will see what I can do with the color wheel. I do agree.

I would shy away from using black and brown. In my understanding, those two colors don't go well with one another either. If you are staying with the brown as one of your primaries, I would consider using brighter colors such as: white, sandstone, possibly orange or a shade of yellow. Green might work too, as you could go a woodland camo route.

Right. I took the Armour and left it the same color, but made the pants black, Drybrushed with codex grey. Ialso added some green to the decals and such. I will post pictures when It is completly done. Thanks.

Great painting, but they look a little plain. A splash of color would be nice.

The painting is good, but as the others have already said, the two colors dont fit too well... Maybe use something bright like GWs Bleached bone as a secondary color?

Thanks guys! The customer highly approves of them, and he is going to have paint the rest of his army......well....force. He is also getting some Kroot hounds and he wants me to paint them as well. do any of you suggest wet blending on the back of there head? (Those spike things)
