I was looking at Amon ad raza's teir list and thought it looked cool, until I realised there wasn't many tough things in it. So is teir 4 worth losing heavy jacks to gain that focus?
I really want to like the teir list as I want all those monks but I don't think its strong enough as an army.
Any ideas on what to do?

In my experience, it's a fun list, but it's totally susceptible to, well,
everything. I say you go for Tier3 and get as much infantry into
your list as you can afford, and then go for heavies. The extra
focus is nice at tier 4, but you risk losing out on 'jack durability
which means you're totally boned against high POW ranged
attacks since you don't have the added defense of the choir.

Tip on the Allegiants: if you use the Shifting Sands stance, you
don't expire the stance after you move. It's totally gross. And
when AOEs miss, you get to resolve the AOE placement and then
decide where to move it (I think)

Idrians are expensive. For 12 models you're paying 13 points.

But that's the only reason I've heard surely they have more good points then bad points?
They have path finder, hunter (or what ever it is) and they can "dig in" isn't that worth 13pts?

I love them, but they won't always be able to put out enough hurt.

Really if you want to use them go full unit with UA. Don't do min
units with this one, and don't duplicate the unit unless you're
using the theme force or other mechanism that allows multiple
UAs.

In an ideal situation, you start your turn in shooting, and thus charging
range of your Prey. You give the Assault and Battery order and
fire off several combined ranged shots at POW +2. Then they all
charge putting in one or two Combined melee attacks at P+S +2.

Then they die.

DEF 13 isn't enough to keep them alive.

I like them with eseverius because you can put Holy Ward on them
to make them immune to being targeted by spells AND DEF 15.

So they are pretty much a suicide squad? Or is that the only use they have become?
What about the solos what would you like it to be?

This is probabley a stupid question but what is so good about slam?
I haven't really ever used it.
What can go wrong with slam and what is it great against?

Slams can be amazing, especially if you don't have to be restricted by
the movement requirements 'jacks have for slams.

When you slam large based models, they get knocked down and models
they slam through get knocked down. If they contact a same size or larger
base, they stop, but they get super slammed and eat an extra die of
damage.

It might not be significant if they're just P+S 9-12, but you want stuff
that slams for the knockdowns and for the lane clearing.

In Warmachine: Legends, Hierarch Voyle walked up to 'jacks and
knocked them around. He was a member of the Order of the Fist.

I want slams.

Oh crap, Idrian solo?

No clue what it could do. You already have a chieftain and a
tracker with the UA. Maybe he'd be a scoutmaster or something.

So ekreos should use slam more than armour piercing?

Oxford, Great Britain

Totally depends on the situation. Say you are facing a Sorcha who is hiding behind a jack. You get Kreoss2 to go first and slam the jack over Sorcha thus knocking her down. Then your weapon masters can go to town. (Assuming Kreoss feated in an earlier turn of course).

Then we have a real situation I put a Kreoss2 player in. I was playing Mortenebra (jack heavy) and had managed to get a deathjack very, very close to Kreoss and his protective screen. At this point my opponent wanted to kill deathjack else he would have been eaten next turn so the armour piercing special attack came out.

Yeah, the slam can save ekreoss if he's already feated.

Ok thanks, I might use ekreos more now.
Any ideas about when we will most likely see the idrian solo?
Any chance of it being in colosals?

No clue. There's tons of stuff they've hinted at but don't know
when they'd be released. The menoth book (as with all the faction
books) came out before Wrath. So we all hoped to see the Idrian
solo, and the Cygnar Light Cavalry there. None of it was. Then
they introduce the idea of Flamebringers. So who knows?
