Hello there dakka,

I've been forging ahead with my eldar 2k army that I'm trying to complete so I can stop having so much guilt over it sitting around. I've got a theme and some conversions and blah blah blah, that's not important. What is important is that I am attempting to use WFB wood elf dryads as the base model for my wraithguard. I have done some conversion work, but just realized that I don't know if the dimensions are exact.

So my question is: Does anyone have a comparison picture of a wraithguard model next to a dryad? I want to know if the dryad will be tall and big enough to pass for WYSIWYG in tournaments.
If I need to add asome extra height using a the base, that won't be a problem. A picture would really let me see what I'd need to work towards. Any quality will do.

Please help!
Thanks in advance

PS: I know this is getting greedy, but if you have a pic of a wraithlord and WFB treeman (new) next to each other, that'd help for height comparisons too.

maybe this should have been in the YMDC. Can a mod move it over for me please?

I don't have a side-by-side example, but I can tell you that Wraithguard are pretty tall. If memory serves, the dryads are too short. Treemen are far too big, both in height as well as thickness.

The New treeman is definitely wider / largers then a Wraithlord. Dryads are shorter then Wraith Guard. If you are going for representation, I think your model choice he is off.

Unfortunately for wraithguard, your going to struggle with a stand in. wraithguard are very very unique in their weapon, armor, and abilities. Given their points total, you really cannot run more then 1-2 full units, you may just want to slowly start picking them up, or try to scoop them on Ebay.

If you want to use Dryads as the basis for your conversions, you will need to make them stand taller/bulk them out. You coiuld make them all stand on quite big rocks? Maybe have them emerging from walls/vegetation?

Eh, it's not the money that's the issue. I wouldn't mind paying for them, but they don't fit my army theme. Also, I would like to have them both tree-like so it makes my army more unique.

As for the tree-man, I'm not worried about being bigger. No one will complain about that, it's being smaller and accused of cheating that worries me.

And not to sound like an ungrateful ass, but I already know that potentially the models won't fit the size bill, thats why I am asking. If you could give me exact measurements, that'd be sweet and I could use it. If you give me opinions without anything to back it up, I'm still in the same spot as I was.
Thanks for the input so far.

EDIT: If they need to be taller, I'll definitely put them on terrained bases to raise them up. For bulk, I'm thinking adding shoulderguards or something similar.

Have you given any thought to using TreeKin instead? They are larger then the Dryad, but smaller then the TreeMan, just a thought.

Oh stop complaining, its for the greater good... Now get in the box!

I have, but they are either metal, or expensive finecast. Or expensive metal.
I don't like converting with the metal, and spending more money than the actual wraithguard on models that still need heavy conversions to work, seems like too much of an investment.
