Unless you're including a Demo charge those Vets are 155 not 185

Yes and no. It is competitive, but also predictable. A LOT of people design their lists to counter exactly what you your list is. Any list with a nunit or 2 of outflankers is going to take out your Manticores unless they are completely bubble wrapped by mech vets, which leads to the second problem. Once you bubble wrap your Manticores, you've severely limited your firepower to just multilasers and Manticore barrages. Several armies that come to mind can outshoot you at that point.

So by all means go forward with that list, but when you start losing games to good players you will need to start dropping vets for Vendettas, Outflankers (Al'Rahem or Creed), and a PCS to make up for your loss of bubble wrapping capabilities from dropping the Vets. You'll definitely win many games at your local store, but don't be upset when new armies in the hands of very capable players mop the floor with your parking lot.

That won't be a problem, I don't play against competent players

If you're not going to enter that army into tournaments, wouldn't it be incredibly boring to play and incredibly boring to play against?

Not as boring as Blood Angels.
Charge the enemy->win is incredibly boring, and frustrating, to play against.
I didn't start this war, but it's on.

I'm not being beligerent; just suggesting that you may regret buying the models for this army if you and your gaming group get bored of it after everyone has played it once.

I just don't think you have enough long range shooting. It'll win against other fun lists for sure. Competitive? Not so much.
