Subject: Necrons 750 points, first battle...need help

Hey guys, first battle tommorow...
THe store will lend me some necrons and we are fighting a 750 battle vs SM.
So far I have this ... im missing some points and I badly need some pointers

Your points seem off.
10 warriors is 130pts, do you mean 15 warriors?
I personally dont like res orbs in small units, you are better off getting more warriors. if you dont have the warriors get a ghost ark. if you dont have the ark either, then use scarabs. if you dont have scarabs....
IMO more models is better than regenerating them. the orb isnt mush better than normal reanimation protocol, not worth the points. especially on the overlord, as the lords already have them. An ark costs as much as 9 warriors, with an average return of 2 warriors per turn you need 5 turns to make the ark worth it, even then it is dependent on you losing models to get the benefit, it does nothing for you if you dont take enough casualties. yes the ark has guns, but so do the 9 necron warriors you could have instead.
If you want a foot slogger list i would do this, based on what you have so far:
Overlord + Warscythe + Phaeron = 120
Overlord + Warscythe + Phaeron = 120
Lord + Warscythe + Mindshackle Scarabs = 60
Lord + Warscythe + Mindshackle Scarabs = 60
15 x Necron Warriors = 195
15 x Necron Warriors = 195
= 750
If you have other models, drop some warriors and/or one of the overlords and pick up a doomsday ark or annihilation barge.

BUt what about the 2 Ovelords/Lords ? Are they all supposed to be included in the 2 units of warriors ? Running around as a single model is asking to be shot at, no?

First off your not supposed to put individual point costs for all the wargear.
And it looks like your points are off, 10 warriors is only 130pts not 195pts unless you meant they're units of 15 instead of 10.
Also you're putting out to many Res. Orbs, you dont need 3 when you have only 2 units. One things you could do is maybe drop the Res. Orbs and Get a Ghost Ark with some of the extra points, that way the ones that dont get up you can just bring them back anyways.

You put one Overlord and one Lord in each of the units. Phaeron makes the overlord and his unit relentless, so make sure they are in units, separate ones.

With that list, you don't have any anti-armor.
Drop the lords, put res orbs on the OL's and grab scarab bases.

Scarabs in 750 are counter assault, they're not exactly anti-armor. It's important to realize that depending on a melee unit to take out armor is bad, especially in a low points game. You want to have at least two threats, otherwise the enemy player will just focus your scarabs down and laugh the rest of the game.
The upside is gauss, and your warscythes. But once again... you're limiting yourself tremendously in range and power.
Simple solution:
Overlord+scythe in a CCB
2 squads warriors, one with a lord (make this one like 15 warriors and give him an orb+mss)
smaller warrior squad gets a har. destruction.
this leaves you with some points to play around in either fast attack (wraiths), heavy (anni barge) or maybe even pick up an ark.
Against what was said earlier- about the ark being useless compared to 9 warriors, I can only facepalm.
This isn't old necron, where you warrior spam and profit, this army is now a lot more like the conventional SM armies. That means you want to diversify.
The ghost ark is amazing, it makes a warrior squad invunerable, or nearly so. This doesnt seem so amazing on paper, since they can be caught in melee, but if you have a lord in the group...
And all this is before even considering you can fire your barge guns 24" or rapid fire every turn, unlike your warriors (w/o relentless). ANNNNNND... 13AV? Yes please.
And lastly, you can hide your warriors in the ark, giving them a moving bunker. You can't assault into an open top, but you can shoot out of it.
Begin to see the upside? One warrior squad outside the ark, able to dish out melee. Your CCB flying around decimating armor and loose units (the CCB is FAST!). One group inside the ark firing out with a destroyer harb and several safe warriors.
Then maybe an anni barge to give you tesla power (anni barges are utterly OP in 1k or less, and still damn good higher too). Automatically Appended Next Post: Here is the list (as I outlined in my first post):
OL w/ WS
w/ CCB (w/ gauss)
RC- Harbinger of Dest.
RC- Lord w/ MSS, Orb, WS
8x Warriors w/ GA
10x Warriors
Anni Barge (w/ gauss)
total: 744
Deploy so they your men all support each other, 6" or so between each squad/vehicle. Only exception is the CCB, deploy it as fitting, since it's fast and it attacks via movement it's hands down one of the most mobile unit necrons have.
Deploy the 8 warriors with the Harb. Dest. inside the ark. Deploy the Lord with the 10 warriors outside the ark, but keep this squad near the ark until turn 4-5, or never if you're playing KPs.
The only time you want to drop the warriors inside the ark out is to capture a point, and you should only aim to do this late game, remember, there are no points for holding a point for 4 turns, only to lose it during an assault in turn 5.
Your CCB can either 1) Limit enemy armor movement severely, 2) Suicide kill a high priority target (and it isn't always suicide, you get a 4+ invun save after your "fast" move and you also have the wound-ignore power so you can save your CCB from at least two immob. results.
Your anni barge would move with your troops, providing your ark a cover save if needed, but otherwise acting very much like a conventional tank (the anni barge IS NOT fast :( )
The main weakness to a list like this is anti vehicle weaponry. Even though 13 AV is just so boss you'll still get hit by lances and all those other heavy armor killers, but you'll have a 25-50% better chance of surviving compared to most other race's armor.
Don't forget to take shots with your harb of dest. either, they are insanely strong and provide a suitable ranged anti-armor threat.
