I have always wanted to do some repositioning of Space Marines to make them look more like the super humans they are and thought the lone wolf would be the perfect place to start.

I want the model to look as if he jumping into combat with no thought to personal safety but yet showing more skill and experience than a crazed berserker.

I got the idea for the pose from the TV series Sparticas



I started off with a pair of Space wolf legs, I took a knife to these and removed all the hose that sits in-between the joints and then used wire to pin the parts together.
This let me bend the legs in the new directions without the fear of them dropping off lol.







Once I was happy with the pose I then applied green stuff to the joints. Sadly I am not that good with this yet so it doesn't look fantastic. I plan to clean some of the areas up







For the spear I used the head off a fantasy spear (think it was an old undead dude) and the shaft is made from pape rclip. I plan on thickening the shaft with green stuff.



I also used a paper clip for the base, I drilled through the base and then green stuffed the underside so the pin wont drop out.



And here is the legs and pin together to give an idea of how high the space marine will be jumping



I am tempted to put either a wounded guardsman or civilian on the base with them looking up in awe at their saviour recklessly jumping into the fray to protect them.
If anyone knows of any cool casualty models that would do the trick that would be awesome!

These do the trick and are seriously cool, but pretty expensive for that...

I'm interested to see how this turns out by the way.

An update from the weekend.

I was suppose to be working on the car but as the weather was crap I ended up staying in the warm and carry on with this chap!

I have added a torso to the legs as well as the spear arm and head. I might try and give the guy a greenstuff beard to make him a bit more unique.

I have also started to do some battle damage to the armour





I drilled out a helm and I am going to damage over the right eye, this will be hung from his belt with a connecting cut on the guys face.

Decided the chaps spear was far too weedy so decided to make it a little fatter using a chaos Warrior lance.

Not buying the pose. I'd twist his torso to the right and draw the spear back and up. Or twist his torso to his left and make him thrust the spear forwards. I'd put the head at an angle as well.

I have decided to revisit my lone wolf after finishing a stack of other models.

I decided to swap his head for one that had more flow to it and as I lost the base with the wire support I decided to butcher a flying stand that makes the model stand a lot more stable.

I had a bad "frosting" accident with the army painter spray so the paint isnt anywhere near as smooth as I would have liked. Was tempted just to ditch the model (hence the delay in reposting) but decided that it shouldnt go to waste.

This is after a mornings painting, got most of the major colours done but the paint is pretty crap around the hands and shoulder pads :(











Starting to take shape now the head and shield are on, head took a bit of green stuff to get it to the correct hight still a lot of work to go, feeling a bit happier about the model again.
