Looks like the competition on 28mm WW2 has come full circle, now Warlord has their americans coming soon. It'll be interesting who has the better models. Though one thing is for sure, a WAY better boxart than wgf
Although there is a contradiction. Box says 30 Soldiers, everywhere else on the site refers to 25 soldiers I'll assume the latter is true
£22.50 for the set
Pre-order plastic Bolt Action US Infantry!
The latest plastic set for our Bolt Action WWII range is almost here but you can place pre-orders now and ensure you get yours first! These fantastic new plastic GIs are released later this month (March).
The boxed sets contains parts to make 25 plastic, multi-pose US infantrymen. There are several backpack and equipment options on the sprues so you can use this set to represent American footsloggers from their introduction to the Second World War in 1941 right through to the end of WWII. They wouldn’t look out of place in the Pacific and would even be good for US troops in the Korean War. For those of you after something a little bit different for an army how about painting them as Free French soldiers (they used US uniforms and equipment) or even Brazilians!
Above are just some of the many options you have for building and equipping your plastic GIs. Wearing their Parsons Jacket and woolen trousers they are the classic GI in every regard. There is a variety of head options in the box – from uncovered helmets to the net-covered versions. We’ve also included the soft cap worn under helmets and even a cigar-chewing head with helmet straps dangling loose – the ‘Sarge’ character we’ve all seen in a number of comic book strips and movies!
As with our previous plastic Bolt Action boxed sets there are two different sprues – one with weapons and the other with bodies and equipment. This allows ultimate flexibility in building, converting and painting your troops. Spare weapons and equipment are always well put to use as stowage on your vehicles and or as captured weapons on your Germans!
On the weapons sprue you’ll find Springfield and Garand rifles, M1 Carbines, Thompson and Grease Gun SMGs, sniper rifles, combat shotgun, Bazooka and stacks more!
The new plastics will be released later this month. Those of you placing pre-orders can guarantee yours will be in the post before the lightweights who prefer to wait. Shame on them…
While you wait for your lovely new American Infantry to arrive you might want to prepare with US vehicles or support weapons so your plastic GIs can hit the enemy hard!

I hate that about their display models, I'm happy that Andrés can paint stubble, but painting it on every model is just absurd.
Anyway, hurrah, I've been waiting for these guys for a long, long time now.

They just don't seem as good as the first German plastic kit they did.
The faces aren't quite as terrifying as the British kit however.

Paintjob is pretty bad, makes it hard to see if the models are any good or not.
Black-lining models makes them look like cartoons, and these look like cartoons, especially the guy with the piano-key teeth and googly eyes. Can't tell if that's the sculpt or the paintjob doing that though.
Sprues look good, loads of variety on there. Would like to see bigger pics of them.
I do like the posing, looks like they're trying to keep their heads down and stay alive while advancing.
I'm surprised it has taken this long for WGF and Warlord to start making plastics, would have thought it would have been one of the most obvious targets... did they just assume that battlefront had all the market and left it at that?

Honestly? Probably. Ask people what scales they play WW2 and I'd assume most people are sticking with 15mm-20mm (20mm especially being a haven for plastics). Maybe even microscale. Yes there are still quite a bit of 28mm but several of them are skirmish based. Dont need more than 20 or so models
Although yes, Warlord does have an "interesting" painting budget

Not sure if serious or massive troll..
First off, WWII, not WWI.
Secondly, Warlord doesn't do heroic scale, these are more or less true-scale.

No, I'm serious. I've never seen heroic 28mm minis at my FLGS, so this is huge.

They're nice, but not 'heroic'.
Heroic usually refers to exaggerated proportions so that important details can be seen. Bigger hand, heads, weapons & beefier bodies.
Good example is GW:s Imperial guards. Their Laser rifles are bigger than realistic scale early WW2 Tanks main-cannon!

Not bad lookin for plastics. Ive seen some nice metals in this scale but cant remember the name of the company at the moment. They were really good as I recall, but for plastics in this scale they dont look too bad.
