Hey Dakkanauts.

Quick question for ya:

Are auxiliary grenade launchers worth it?

I was considering taking them on my Chapter Master, Captain and Honour Guard.

I put two on my Honor guard. I also have two relic blades and a thunder hammer. It allows for some wound shenanigan options (groups of wounds anyway) and gives your unit versatility without fully committing to any one thing. I'd say a couple in a squad is good, don't throw them on everything.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I'm not going to pay 15 points for a worse version of a gun that Guardsmen get for 5. The fact that it can shoot in addition to other weapons is cool, but the frag blast is only strength 3 and the krak is just one potential S6 AP4 wound. That's just really dinky for so many points. If it was between 5 and 10 I'd take one sometimes though.

Hm, fair enough.

I might just take one then to mix it up a bit.
I want my Honour Guard to be pretty much a third HQ slot for my army, so I'm upgrading them rather substantially.

Reading the rules for the Chapter Champion is making me excited. Sounds like a one-man-army when it comes to him facing off against enemy independent characters
