So what happens when Im done with SpaceMarines, I get back to true evil and necrons.

Now I claim that the Dark Eldar are my main army, at least they were my first. Necrons came second when released in 3rd edition. And of course the last few years finaly gave my originals an updated codex now its time to make the fancy models. To get started Im going with Necrons, mostly because I have an army plan with them, heavy warriors and plenty of ground pounders but now its time for some motorised destruction. 50 warriors, monotlith, 5 destroyers, 2 heavy destroyers, 12 scarab swarms, 10 flayed ones, nightbringer c'tan, bunch of lords, and two destroyer lords

Now as is not my custom I actually have a plan of action for the models this time around and let me share with you, but mostly for me to remember.
-Build Triarch Stalker
-Ghost barge
-Night Scythe
-Those old pariahs that I never took out of the package, LynchGaurd with warscythe that get to ride the night schthe
- Vangaurd Oybron
-The nightbringer is lame so I need to make him look less lame
-probally get an annilation barge
-repaint my monolith
-add some color to destroyers
-old spider destroyer lord, now Illuminor and with that finished paintjob I promised the model some 4 years ago
-some short barreled warriors, they Deepstrike easier than longbarrels
-roughly 20 warriors get colord shoulders so I can tell my squads apart on the field.

That about it, really some of those can be nailed out in an hour or two.
In fact I allready got started on some builds, behold the triarch stalker

Created with parts from annilation barge and ghost arc. Legs and heat ray from the GA and driver and command form AB, the pewte part is from a tomb spider head.
The only parts that I think are missing from this build would be the small spider legs for the front of the model, tiny small spider mechanical spider legs where shall I find thee?

Anyway more to come and at some point DE will make their apperience.

Wow! Do like! It looks huge!

I almost expect Will Smith to run up and punch it.

It is bigger than I wanted, the main core is roughly dreadnought size but the legs extend over the Dreads base. Considering the parts I had to work with its probally as small as I can get it. I'll take some scale shots soon for size references.

Now about Will Smith punching it, I think I need to make that happen. Anyone know a good line of miniture guys in suits that happen to be punching?

Well as mentioned I have a size comparison pic, TriStalk with Flail Dread and the necron lord my 3 yr old son has painted.

Since the legs of the stalker came from the ribs of the ghost ark I had to enjoy the gaps

The only problem that came with the loss of ribs where was the placement of the gause weapons, turns out the pivots fit nicely in the lower area within the 'spines' of the undercarrage. To continue with the ark I plan to add a 'floor' between the ribs, Im not a fan of the 'reparing' crons that came with the model. It just doesnt give a good transport feel but a walkway I think will fix that. Now before I go much further on the ark its best if I get the night/doom scythe roughed out so I dont run out of parts.

So in regards to the size of the stalker I feel better about it after looking at the codex pics and noticed in the background of one I noticed they had a stalker attacking a Russ and it was sizeable compared to that so I think my dimensions are about right.

Ive decided to rework the Stalkers heatray, two reasons.

1- its just too damm big and bulky as is and sits way too low in the build compared to the codex pics.

2- I need the parts to work on a deathray for a doom scythe

Now in some sad news, I had a wonderful model for Nemessor but it was made with something called finecast so the staff arm busted right off and I lost the all important 'light' part of the staff of light. My advice to all is simeple, dont do finecast. The performance of the necron models does not inspire confidence with the DE Archon that I picked up at the same time.

Yes, I have had to step back and take some time away from this hobby as I help a god friend get ready for his wedding and as I choose today as a day to sit down and maybe finish a stalker conversion I notice a certain email from a Gamesworkshop about the offical model being releasede and all I can think is, "Figures."

Looking at it Ill probally just try to get the legs and make them fit my model, or maybe I should focus on the DoomScythe first and if I need to canabolise some parts off my conversion then so be it. Also Im thrilled to see Nesmor and Vangaur Oby models releasing and will probally order those, Nessie is going to be passed over as I have enough models to represent.

The next few weeks of this blog will continue to be slow as I have one chainmail shirt to finish minor parts on and a few other attention intensive small projects to finish up but at least I should be able to start making some progress really soon.

So I finished the third build from two boxes, what was originally going to be a Night Scythe and now is an Annihilation barge. Considering the recent release of the new necron vehicle models I guess my size comparison was so far off that I had to readjust my thinking.

Not complete yet but as it stands I think I want to leave the 'wings' hollow as they are now.

Ok, Im now getting out of the madness of summer so its time to get back to all this modeling thing.

I think I'll call him Vangaurd Obryon, yeah its an overly simple conversion but it will work for me. The simple snip of the power rod in the scyth did wonders and a head swap with one from a repair barge I think does give him a more battle harden look. Robots with scars still get the chicks, dont they?
