I've got some deathwatch guys to use in my grey knights army but, Im unsure as to how to use them. I've found some stuff from an old issue of white dwarf in chapter approved. But, under the new current edition of the game would rules printed in chapter approved for 4th edition still be applicable?

I'd use them as a count as. Maybe purifiers or something

I believe the current edition only allows you to have whatever is in your codex; unless your playing apoc. If Deathwatch isn't in there, then "counts as" is the best you can do.

Deathwatch I always think are Sternguard, but obviously that doesn't help with the Grey Knights Codex..

Using Death Watch in an army of GK seems strange to me, but hey-ho it's your choice!

Honestly wouldn't have a clue what you could use these as in a GK Codex, but with a SM Codex, you could have them as count-as Danmed Legionaries. The rules fit perfectly with the theme imo.

I was going to use them with an of the Ordos xenos inquisitor. Its just the legality of it that gets to me. Its approved as of chapter approved from back in 08 09 so the rules for them should still work more or less. There isn't a 'true grit' special rule anymore so that doesn't really apply.

Well since Chapter Approved more or less "disappeared" (sad state eh?), seek opponents permission first

In an Ordo Xenos focused list, Deathwatch make a lot more sense than GKs. I wouldn't mix and match the two, but for a fluffy OX army, Deathwatch are a great stand-in for GKs.

@ OP: I'm currently working on a Deathwatch squad for my Ordo Xenos army. In my list, they'll either be a counts-as GKSS or Purifiers (psychic powers are explained easy enough---DW could be led by a Librarian in the past). The old rules...well, they don't really seem worth digging up/asking permission to use.

I plan to use them with an inquisitor of the ordos xenos but, don't want to count them as warrior alcoytes. I've got a female model as a inquisitor which works well for my ordos xenos side of my inquisition part of my army. Its a sisters of battle hospitlar. A little bit of work went into it. Namely adding a pueter las pistol onto the right for arm, a pouch on the long skirt, and I'm debating removing the combat knife I put on the left arm.
