Ok so i'm putting together my moria list. from examples i've seen around people are taking captains with standards etc, so captain units are like 4 men in some cases (gondor) and then taking 12 men in the warband, is this even legal?

the goblin drum, does this count as 2 models or one?

Unit cohesion: do i have to keep models within a certain distance of each other or even if its a mixed warband do they even have to stay together?
i've looked through the rulebook and cohesion isn't mentioned anywhere and there's nothing in the new sourcebooks either.

so far for my force i have.

Warband 1
Durburz goblin king - leader - 60
11 goblins with shields, bows and spears - 55
Cave troll with spear and chain - 86
201pts

warband 2
Goblin captain with shield - 40
12 warriors with shields, bows and spears. - 60
100

warband 3
Ashrak spiderkin - 55
Goblin drum - 100
2 Venom back spiders - 44
199

500 pts total

its not overly shooty, but i wanted it to be quite mobile, the drum i believe should be essential for that courage boost. the spiders are part of a bigger plan for when the army grows

Apart from when you are deploying (when you normally have to deploy within 6" of the commander of the warband (each scenario will make it clear how to deploy)) you don't have to stay in any cohesion, it is a skirmish game after all.

Warbands normally number a leader and up to 12 warriors unless they are independent heroes, in which case they are not allowed to lead any warriors, or if they are siege engines, in which case the siege engine makes up the whole warband with no hero/leader needed for the warband (siege engine captain is still an option though).

I think the drum only counts as 1 model as it is 1 entry in the book, however I may be wrong.

I don't really understand what you mean but captain with standards, can you expand further? As far as i'm aware only a few special heros can take a standard i.e. Boromir and Gamling.

ah, drum counts as two, says in the book, missed that bit.
regarding skirmish rules - wicked, just wanted to be sure.

the standards i spotted were examples of warbands on the gw blog! can't find it atm tho.
i'll have another look.
