I have recently been considering starting a new fantasy army, after having zero success with my small High Elves army. Vampire Counts have caught my eye, but I am unfamilier with them, and I don't know much about the tactics they employ.
I would be very grateful for any advice you can give regarding general tactia for Vampires, or any good articles/websites containing this infomation.

I have just started VC as well and i had my first game yesterday and I tell you what... ressurection is awesome mainly with zombies though.
when your fighting with VC a vampire is really good but to give you tactics we need to see what army's you fight, so what army's are you fighting against?

It depends, can be anything from 750 to 2000, usual scale is 1000-1500 however.
Also, yeah, my club is quite large, so we end up facing a lot of different armies.

Have you had to deal with 15+ block Ogre unit? Its really annoying especially when they take over the middle of the board. Screaming women dont work unless you have them behind your unit or in B2B with the unit. They cant hide in the 2nd rank

I trounced the 15 iron gut horde no problem. Get 5 screams going off on a unit with Dark Majesty and watch them all die.

I guess you roll better then me. Scream is 2d6 + 2. Average roll of around 7+2 = 9. The general is 10 so if he is there they statisitically wouldnt take that many wounds. But I guess milage veries.

Oh see I never ever see Tyrants so I am used to LD 8 Ogres, which gets bumped down to 7 with Dark Majesty.

The Restrictions I Put On My Tallarn Lists:
- Missile Launchers are the only HW teams allowed in Infantry Squads.
- All units able to take the FW Desert Raider special rule, must take it in lists of 750 points or more.
- 1 unit of 10 Rough Riders is required for lists of 1000 points or more.
- 2 units of Mukaali Rough Riders are required for lists of 1000 points or more.
- No vehicles besides Chimera Armoured Transports and Hydra Flak Tank Batteries are allowed.
- Al'Rahem is required in lists of 1000 points or more. |

I runn 6 screams in my list and if I score above average it does some real damage

A guy in my gaming group used to love to bring a block of 18 Ogres 6 Wide, 3 Deep until I showed him that a large bus unit of Zombies would only engage half his Bulls leaving the other half twiddling their thumbs, and tie them up for several turns. He doesn't bring that unit anymore.
