Hey Dakka, I've run into a problem one guy at my shop switched to BT. He said he spends 600 points on a squad of sword brethren terminators, it has a Marshal, thunderhammers, lightning claws, and preferred enemy.

I looked at approaching the same way I do with any other terminator, I put two Tervigons I front of them and rammed a hundred Termaguants down they're throat. After 5 turns there were 2 left and me Tervigons were empty. Can someone help me with a more reliable way to deal with that deathstar?

I run the Swarmlord with basic Tyrant Guard.

No Landraider delivering? Then you have no problem.

Well he did have them in a Landraider but I just lanced it.

A massive unit of Toxin Genestealers will usually do the trick, especially with Preferred Enemy from the Swarmlord or OA. ~60 attacks...~53 hits...~40 wounds (tons of which are rending).

Paroxysm works well against any deathstar.

And honestly, if you can tie up a 600 point unit for 5 turns with free models (spawned termagants)...I'd call that a valid strategy.

I've found Devourer Termagants to be rather effective at killing terminators; toss enough dice at them and they're going to fail some saves. The Mawloc's S6 AP2 pie plate of death is also a pretty decent way of clearing away terminators, as they're large enough that even if you scatter a few inches, you're still likely to hit most of the squad.

I guess you were really unlucky.. A hundred Gaunts vs. any infantry unit will probably destroy that unit, and besides, if thay don't: you held up that 600 pts. unit all game, with units you got for free! I don't really see the problem here: you popped his transport, and after that his ultra Death Star was useless all game!
