The new sisters models? There was all the buzz and rumors flying around and then the dwarf-dex hit and pow, they disappeared from the face of the earth. What was the final word on them? delayed? cancelled?

There were only ever a few vague rumours. General word is they're having trouble casting some of the parts in plastic (like lace-like parts on the armour and used as veils).

It was a WD gap fill codex, it wasn't going to get too much. I remember something about the sleeves and them getting in the way of having the models be dynamic or something like that.

They'd come with the actual codex sometime in 6th.

Wasn't that a Stickmonkey/Ghost21 rumor? If so, that's total bunk. There's been no concrete information on Sisters whatsoever.

I'm going to guess the exact same thing that happened with the 'rumors' of a plastic thunderhawk being released with Planetstrike, and the 'rumors' of a plastic warhound accompanying the release of Apocalypse. Completely made up, but something that people fastened onto and repeated despite the absolute lack of source.

Back before Apocalypse hit, I remember seeing some very precise analyses of the warhound shown in leaked batrep pictures, and how various minute differences in it's construction and design proved that it was a plastic kit.

Likewise, prior to Planetstrike, there was a picture of a DA thunderhawk as part of a batrep, and the fact that the DA player was holding it one handed was absolute proof that it was a plastic kit (I know that gamers are not supposed to be the strongest of folks, but an average adult should not have much trouble picking up the resin model if held at the balance point).

Oh my god! People picking up a Thunderhawk with one hand means that a plastic kit is on the way!

It's not like people can be strong or anything...

Yeah, updated Sisters of Battle models will probably come sometime within the next 1,000 years.

They recently had that crappy WD 2 part Codex, but that only actually existed to nerf them beyond belief and eliminate the use of any Inquisitorial units. As such, the SoB are now confined to several sub-par characters, an extremely limited armory, special rules that aren't even special and a line of extremely expensive models that mainly come in 3 unit blister packs.

A SoB update won't be in the pipeline for a long time imo.
I've been told 2012 will be the year of 40K but who knows if that means we'll see a new SoB line and Codex before the year is out.

We can hope, right?

Although, if that is the case, you have to wonder how much of an update a new SoB Codex would be compared to the WD 2 part Codex.
*Shudder*

I'm sticking to my Witch Hunters Codex.

I'm hoping the Exorcist at least stays the way it is, sort of in a good spot.

Rules wise or model wise? Rules are fine, but the model is a metal hybrid kit from hell.

Rules wise. I have one converted and one plain that has been sitting on the work bench for a pretty long time now.

I like the organ pipe of doom, but having to deal with the the old, misaligned metal kit is hell of treads, plus it weighs enough that I've actually had it scratch up softer table top material. That's kit I would love to get in finecast.

GW's phasing out hybrid kits as much as possible, so I wouldn't expect a Finecast release of it.

I hope it doesn't go finecast. It'd be more of the same nightmare it is. I'd much prefer it to just go complete plastic; keeping the organ of doom of course.

I love the organ of doom. I just wish I had the artistic skill to paint the keyboard playing sister with any justice >.<
