Title says it all. I've read the description they have on their site, just want more input on the difference between the two based on people's experiences.

I've found the Model Color to be more of a matte finish. I only have a few Model Color bottles, but it seems to have a higher pigment density than the Game Color.

I like Model Color for the range of colors available but do be careful with some of the (very nice) reds, yellows and greens - especially if you're using an airbrush - as they contain cadmium.

Model Color is a bit more rich on the pigments than Game Color.

So does anyone recommend one over the other? I'm thinking of switching on Vallejo since they're cheaper and lasts longer (as most people say). Plus, they're readily available in my friendly art store. Problem is they only carry Vallejo Model, so it crossed my mind if Game Color is more fit for my needs.

They're both just fine for the purposes you need.

Just be warned that you will be thinning paints, and thinning paints alot.

Seeing that everyone needs to thin their paints when painting to avoid unwanted texture, I don't see thinning as a hindrance. Thanks!

From what i have seen the Model coulor range seems to be the more matt and/or drab end of the spectrum (so ideal for things like camo patterns).

The Game color more closely matches some of the brighter pigments that GW produce.

1.) Basically Game Colour is a copy of the Citadel range with names close to the GW ones. Being an older range, some new GW paints are not copied, some old OOP colours are still present. paints usually have more pigments than their GW counterpart, metallics seem less convincing. Game Colour is ... for tabletop games and therefore more rub resistant than Model Colour.
2.) Model Colour is mainly for military modellers, featuring lots of historic military colours. Being for display only models, the colours can be less rub resistant than their game Colour counterpart.

Hmm, I do paint more than I play and generally take care of my models. I guess Model Color is okay for me. And I'm not a fan of striking bright colors anyway.

Try check out this comparison chart, you should be able to match a vmc to anything made by GW, minus a few exceptions. Quality wise they are great, and yes require thinning but you should be doing that anyway. The sheer amount of variety in the range is incredible. I'm heavily considering converting my entire reaper line over to VMC because of the chalky feel i keep getting with them.

Model Color is made for model painters. Game Color is made for wargamers. Aside from the matte finish and the other things people mentioned above...

Game Color has slightly more adhesives to it can stand handling better. You're expected to PLAY with your models.
Model Color has more pigments so it is more of a solid look. You're not expected to play and touch your models.

Either way, the Model Colors' drawback can be circumvented with a final gloss/matte varnish and the Model Colors' drawback can be circumvented with multiple layers.

That all being said, they're all pretty much similar enough that differences are negligible.
