Display - up close, in detail.
and competition armies / squads - 2 feet or more away.

Note that because an individual model looks good from six inches, does not mean that a unit of them from 2 feet (gaming distance) won't look gak. For competition work, you need to jump out in the cabinet, checking the look at distance is also important there. No wow, no judge. No judge, no prize.
