I have read the Space Wolf Omnibus and am now reading Battle for the Fang. While reading Battle for the Fang two stupid question started to bug me. So I was wondering could a space wolf and an Aettguard fall in love and have a relationship? What brought that question up was the fact that Ragnar fell in love with Inquisitor Isaan. It seemed like she liked him as well. The major problem was that they were from different divisions of the Imperium and as such would not have been able to maintain a relationship. The Wolves and Aettguard are from the same organization which might make it feasible. My other question was how many Aettgaurd are there and do they ever leave planet and go campaigning with the with the wolves?

It talked about Ragnar feeling an emotion he felt he shouldn't as a space marine. An emotion like the one he felt for Ana( his girlfriend from his tribe)

If ever a chapter would "love", it would be the Wolves. They always seem to defy what you would expect marines to act like.

well as Ragnar did I doubt he would recognize the emotion at first and from that it depends on the space marine, I don't have a space wolf codex so I'm not sure if the wolves would approve however I would say that even when he realized what that emotion was he would probably not say or show it to his fellow space wolves.

He was attracted to her and I guess you could say over the course of that book he fell in love(not like that did much good) but that was a young ragnar.
There is a lot of leeway in the space wolves as generally in the omnibus you either see them feasting or fighting in the omnibus.
What was expected of Ragnar at that point was to die fighting as you move up the ranks I imagine that would be frowned upon since more is expected of you.

yea.... I dont think love is the right word for what Ragnar felt...
