Hey guys, I need help in how to take down tyranids with orks in a 2k point game. I am the only xenos player at my LGC and have know real idea on how to take out anything apart from MEC armies.I can make almost every type of ork army apart from speed freaks.

Please give me all the advice you can give me

Burnaboyz are good against swarms.

Tankbustas are actually worth it against Nids (no vehicles, so you can choose what to shoot at) and all those rokkits are good vs their MC's.

Nids are somewhat weak on shooting vs armour, so a KFF mek'd Battlewagon or two might be fun to try.

Lootas are awesome agaisnt anything the Nids have (IIRC nothing is over T 6)..

oh and, shoot the synapse beasties

Three thinks I learned when facing nids:

1. They don't like rokkits
2. Have them come to you.
3. Pick your fights very carefully.

1. Is simple, nids have lot of monstrous creatures that rely on high T and 3+ armor to stay alive, rokkits ignore both. In addition, any T4 multi-wound model, like warriors or the dreaded Doom of Malantai simply implode when they get hit by rokkits, leaving nothing but green goo.
2. is probably the hardest part, as ork instincts tell you to charge those damn bugs. But from experience, orks easily out shoot tyranids, both in distance and volume.
3. Comes from experience and/or mathhammer. High toughness goes a long way against boyz, so make sure the klaw can actually kill whatever you are charging before it kills you. Especially true for units of multiple T5+models.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Swarms against Big-uns. This goes both ways, but you'll want to cut off and encircle their MCs with a large Boyz mob with PK, while avoiding getting counter-charged if you can. One of the interesting things about the Ork Kodex is that a lot of the 'useless' units against MEq are our best bet against Nids, like Tankbustas, Flash Gitz and Grots swarms. 30 strong Grot swarms, especially, are devestating to Nid MCs because the 2 or 3 Runtherds with their Grabbin' Stikks can reduce a MC's attacks to 1 or even 0, and you can take a Grot Prod (poison!) with one of them as well.

Tankbustas, as said above, aren't constrained by Glory Hogs, and can asplode pretty much anything. Flash Gits, with More Dakka and Shootier will tear apart a lot of their units as well, and are fairly survivable.

One thing to think of is to take a couple 'suicide copters', not for Tankhunting, but to tie up any Biovores or Hive Guard they may have first turn if possible, as those guys will wreck you.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!

I'm pretty sure you can't reduce attacks to 0 with grabba sticks (feel free to prove me wrong, as i'd love to be ) , but other than that, yeah The grots have a lot of ablative wounds, and can reroll their morale by losing a few instead of being butchered by 'no retreat' wounds, and they are cheap

Tankbustas are awesome vs Nids. 15-rokkit volleys tend to make a dent in any MC, even if only 1/3 wll hit

I've found Kommandos to be handy also. Some Nid players like to camp a unit, like Biovores, in a corner, behind cover, and Kommandos are good at unshucking them, or at least tying them up so that they can't fire. A PK's Kommando Nob can make a dent in a rearline-camping Tfex, using his unit as ablatives (they'll die, but the T-fex will be busy for a bit )

I've also found that Venomthropes aren't fond of Kanz, as their groovy poisons won't work, and the kanz can dice them fine in CC.

Zoanthropes and pods can be a bit of a git, though, but if they are close enough to nuke you they're in dakka range

I play both Tyranids and Orks, and your major advantage is numbers. You have more shooting and more attacks in combat, but more importantly, more bodies if you build a horde list. 1:1 Orks win combat, and when you add a Power Klaw you can engage even warrior sized creatures and monstrous creatures. I'd say get stuck in and choose your fights carefully, which is easier for you because you'll have transports.
