It may just be me but i would get rid of the tyrant guard and take wings on your tyrant so he can be bubbled warped by the gargoyles

You're actually the second person to mention that. I'll have to give that a try

You may want to replace the heavy venom cannon on the Hive Tyrant with devourers. They will function better for it if you use it with wings. Two pairs of twinlinked devourers on a winged Hive Tyrant is a very good combo to use. Also the heavy venom cannon is not the best weapon.

So, the advice is to add wings to the Tyrant and screen it with Gargoyles. My question is: does this actually accomplish anything? The only purpose for a strategy like this would be to get a cover save for the Tyrant,but understanding the rules for MCs are that you only get a cover save if 50% of the model is covered, would it get the save?
