Well fellow members i am stuck.I am getting everything ready for our Summer campaign.
So this wher i need help decieding on what to play.SS tempting but alot of points and no Aircraft.Fortress Europe,Good points value,PLanes,Good equipment choices. The bad side lower skill rating.
As for our Campaign it is a non historical campaign.Best way to sum it up is that it is kinda movie style. My oppents are a Russian Tank company and the 101st Airborne.
On the side of my models i have 3000 pts roughly probably more.
Here is a list of what i have so far.
8 Panzer 4
3 Panthers, one of which is the BArkman set.
2 AA 8.8
4 15.5 Howitzers
3 Screaming mimis rocket launchers
8 Half tracks
1 tiger tank
3 King tiger tanks
Schiwvagen Scouts 4
7 Stu G
3 2 cm aa guns
3 stuka dive bombers
Fir infantry i have a decent amount of GRendier and Falschimjagers.

Are You asking for fluff or lists? If fluff, then I'd say go with Panzer Korps Großdeutschland. They had pretty anything in terms of supplies, except for probably King Tigers... And when You are fed up with them, You can switch to Panzergrenadier Regiment "Großdeutschland" or Panzer Aufklärungs Battalion "Großdeutschland" or Sturmgeschütz Battalion "Großdeutschland" or whatever. It is IMO more flexible choice than Panzer Lehr and GD saw most of action against Soviets.

Das Reich is very limiting in terms of points, veteran Fearless = Great. Rocking up with 4 platoons = Vulnerable.
Das Reich aren't bullet proof, they are just more likely to achieve what you want. German's are always outnumbered and with SS it's even more stark.
Heer Armies are still very good and hit hard and you get a bit more bang for your points.

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest! |

Well here is the the Scenario. It is a home brew one.\
King of the Hill
three way, free for all. 4 objectives.one for each player starting (their staging areas) And one big hill worth double victory points.
extra rules are undecieded. i will leave this up to all of us playing to agree on.probably the usual ones.

Personally, I'd almost always go with Heer over SS. I don't really think the increase from Confident Veteran to Fearless Veteran is worth the points. It could easily be the difference between taking an extra platoon or not, or even more. Your platoon count is going to be low enough as it is with a Heer force, so there's no reason to hamstring your company even more.
Especially if you're playing a tank company, the upgrade to fearless is not going to be worth it. Most of your tanks have protected ammo anyway, and assaulting with tanks doesn't depend on motivation checks as much as assaulting with infantry does.

78. Sturmdivison, Sturmkompaine.
Great mixture of Panzers, Infantry and gun teams.

The only AFVs that the 78th Sturmdivision list gets are Tigers and StuGs. Now those are nice in their own right. But he's already got almost a dozen tanks that are a mix of Panthers and Mark IVs, and those aren't usable with the Sturmkompanie list.

But has a load of grenadiers. So could easily go with the Sturmkompaine.
The Schwere list out of Grey Wolf would let you use the King Tigers and Panthers in one list, or if you wanted to seperate the panthers you could go with a platoon of Panzers.
The Heer Grenadierkompaine out of Grey Wolf would also allow the use of a big lot of vehicles.
If you want, go with a 5. SS list. You can use all almost all of your armour units in that list.
