I am interested in starting to make my own terrain but...
I have no clue what to spend or where to spend it?
can someone post what I need and how much? (price roughly)

google for the 'making wargames terrain' book that GW did. It's actually pretty good.

Miniwargaming have some neet tutorials.

If you narrow down what terrain youd like to make you can search for tutorials on that and get more focused advice on here

Well I would like ork terrain but this is more about what to use and where to buy it to be honest

Unfortunately you either need :
A great deal of money to buy the terrain kits that are commercially available.
or
Moderate amounts of time and money to research and procure methods of making your own.

I'd invest in:
A hot glue gun.
A huge jug of PVA glue. Standard white glue, nothing too fancy.
Some home insulation foamboard.

And go out and find:
Pine tree bark
Wine corks
Sand and pebbles

Using the above, you've got a good start on most homebrew terrain making methods. If you invest additional money on GW terrain kits, it can tie in the board or get you some decent centerpieces. Good luck, and have fun.

well I have alot of time and LOTS of pva and can get a hot glue gun but where would I buy foam board?

b&q, wickes, homebase or an independent builders supply. Its sold as insulation and is either blue or pink.

It might be sold in 8' x 4' sheets so take a stanley knife in the car incase you need to chop it in half in the car park to get it home.

I don't have a car.... can I order online?
