What scale are you look to play?

I prefer 1/285 or 1/300 as my scale for aircraft scale choice. This scale is also the popular scale for gaming with WWII aircraft.

1/72, 1/600, 1/144 and 1/200 are also popular. With 1/72 being the least popular for gamin but most popular for modeling.

With the size and scale of CY6 I would recommend 1/285 or 300 or 1/200 or 1/144.

CY6 is a detailed air game but no so much where you will always be looking back at the rule book. It's a good system for a handful of models but not for massive air battles unless you have multiple people playing. The movement system though takes up time really eliminates a lot of "cat and mousing" or "turtling" among players.

Raiden produces some of the best looking if not THE best small scale aircraft 1/285

Best place to order their minis in the US is here

For other rules set, Sturmovik Commander is also a good set of rules

The downside is they do not have a wide selection of aircraft.

Heroics and ross produce cheap miniatures but the detail is very limited on them but they pretty much have every fighter, bomber, glider, ground attack, carrier, cargo aircraft produced in the war.
