I am very partial to Ork war bikes and I do believe they are often overlooked, as they have done great for me in the past.

I am stuck on one decision though. I can ether run them in multiple squads of 5 for the maneuverability and small footprint.

Or I can run them in 2-3 squads of 10 for the shear amount of fire-power it can throw out as well as them being some-what viable in close combat.

As well, I have a hard time deciding what to do with Wazdakka and Warboss(on bike). Which do I add to my nobs(if any), and do I run any of them solo?

When life give you lemons keep them, because hey, free lemons

Curb stomping in the Eye of Terror!

Most Ork Warbiker generals prefer large warbikers units (ie, 12 man bikers / units) for survivability.

But me... I'm the Ork general who's off at times
My prefer warbiker units that consists of:
4 x normal bikers
1 x nob with BP + PK

Why? It's cheap enough where you can filed 2 or 3 units of these and still fill out large standard ork mobs (trukk boyz or 8-10man nobz bikers).

Here's a 2000pt "Pedal to the Metal" list that I'm very fond of:
HQ:
Wazdakka
Warboss on Warbike, PK, Cyborked

Troops:
4x Warbikers + 1 Nob biker w/ BP, PK
4x Warbikers + 1 Nob biker w/ BP, PK
4x Warbikers + 1 Nob biker w/ BP, PK
4x Warbikers + 1 Nob biker w/ BP, PK
8x Diversified Nobs w/ Painboy, 3x PK, 4x BC, 3xBP, Banner, Cyborked, etc...

Fast Attack:
1x TL Rokkit Deffkopta + Buzzsaw
1x TL Rokkit Deffkopta + Buzzsaw
1x TL Rokkit Deffkopta + Buzzsaw

Elites:
5 x Kommandos + 1 Snikrot
5 x Lootas
5 x Lootas

Units of 6 warbikers are pretty damn good IMO as whenever I've used them they've performed as planned. A larger unit tends to attract attention too fast and the unit dies. Handy in a Trukker list somewhat; still, not a very good feeling when you lose a larger portion of a unit in one turn.

As for which commander on a bike to use, either work. Wazdakka for Warbiker armies while a Warboss offers fast-paced killing.

I love bikes, ESPECIALLY in small units. They are more mobile and harder to kill.If you have smaller units, massive amounts of shooting will only take out 5 bikes as opposed to 7-8. They can also split up their combat and charge into combat against a wider variety of things. They actually do not lose any firepower in smaller units as you still have the same number of shots but now you get to divide fire. Imho small units are much better with less negatives. With smaller units you also get more pk s.

You could just do both, two big mobs for taking down tough units and a bunch of small ones for harassing and scoring. They are not mutually exclusive.

I don't agree on those huge nob units though. 5 nobz and a warboss will pretty much kill anything that dares to cross their paths. You could use the freed up points for buggies, because biker lists tend to struggle with transports.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Just remember the big Ork drawback, Ld 7 isnt really that good.
Thats why I prefer running them in a little bigger squads. I run them as 9 with a kitted nob, 265p.
And I'v noticed that their bigges weakness is the Ld 7.

They can have a boss pole though and 4+ armor means that they survive being hit with a stick half the time. For comparison, ld 7 with a reroll is roughly the same as ld 9.

I agree with 6 and up mobs I've done serious things with my bikerz, IMHO they are always worth it.
