So, my friends hooked me up with this cool box set for my birthday and I love em! Can't wait to start assembling them. But I can't seem to find their stats or info about them anywhere aside from the army builder, so I at least have a printout of that. But of course, the army builder told me it was illegal to add them to my list without a hacker.

Are they in the Human Sphere book? I downloaded the free pdf but there isn't any mention of them.

Anyway, how do you actually use them? What do they do exactly? Someone mentioned to me that your guys can jump on them and ride...other than that I really don't know much about em.

Bear in mind I've only played Infinity once so far, so some of the more advanced tactics and weapons I'm not sure how to use yet...

Thanks!

Haqqislam Kameel form CB website...

"The Kameel Remote is a multipurpose robotic unit that can be employed as a load-bearing vehicle, a transport platform for wounded soldiers, a mine-sweeper, a communications unit, or a cybernetic control and defense platform. The design and development of the Kameel Remote was influenced by the harsh environmental conditions of the planet Bourak. The experience of the Haqqislamite army showed that the conditions of arid environments can seriously damage military equipment. The oscillations between very high and low temperatures and severe dryness are primary causes of equipment failure. The action of wind raises and spreads dust and sand, interfering with any element that has mobile pieces. Power plants, sensors and weapons are especially affected. Components with seals and joints become brittle and oil leaks are frequent. The Kameel, honoring its name (Camel), has been designed to compensate for these factors. The entire series has been equipped with a thermal coating to reduce the Remote’s overheating or over-cooling. A special traction system has been developed for movement over soft terrain, so that it doesn’t lose mobility or speed when moving through dunes. The Kameel, in the purest tradition of desert transportation, incorporates additional water tanks as one of the main support elements for Haqqislamite infantry troopers."

While you can not ride them (it the Haqqislam TAG you can ride) they come with baggage, meaning your harder to force retreat on. Hacker are normal unit with the Hacking Device next to there in the army builder. There use is based on the build, Minesweeper can turn your enemy's mine in to yours. The EVO Repeater makes hacking easier and you only need one hack to take over a TAG. While the Total Reaction one can fire it's full burst in your Active and Reactive phase, so is great at defending you high target guys and holding a route.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

The entry is in the Human Sphere army list for Haqqislam.

It's the baggage remote for Haqqis (All factions have a baggage remote).

It changes your retreat threshold (at 300pts, you are in retreat if you fall below 120pts. With a baggage rem, you go down to 100pts before hitting retreat) but the downside is that these remotes are worth extra points to your opponent if he kills it (beyond its VP value).

The EVO repeater has many uses, from making it easier to hack, to guiding AD troops in for safer landings, to ballistic trajectory calculations, and even allowing multiple hackers to coordinate their efforts AND give you a bonus per hacker to the roll.

Ok thanks for the replies. So the picture I'm getting is they're more tactical than offensive. What about the blurb that says they can move wounded soldiers? Can they deliver them to a medic or something? Not that I have a medic yet...

Guess I need to add a medic and hacker to the buy list

Btw, is it only in Infinity that a miniature can come with baggage and it be a good thing?

No in game facility to move models with it.
That's fluff and not part of its game-rules role.
Unfortunately. They are a support remote used to bolster a hacker's role. Yes, they can be minesweepers, but you HAVE to be inside the mine's LoF to disable it, and if you fail, it goes off

Haqq get Sooooo many Doctor options though (Ghulam doc is better than most other factions option - since we don't get docs as line infantry, only paramedics. We have to get a doc to get the 'doctor' skill).
Paramedics are far worse than doctors (docs use WIP, paramedics use a modified PH roll.).

In Infinity, "baggage" isn't necessarily a good thing. Yes, it can help, but it can also be used against you.

Just to note as well the remote like these (typically just refered to as "baggage bots") will likely have a role in the upcoming missions/scenario book.

I have big hope for that to. Well baggage and cube anyways.

On Kameels, the one thing I'm not a fan of is the base sitting between trhe feet. From the look of it, it's a 40mm base. Is there anythign against putting on on a 60mm base? I realize it's a lot bigger, but having the feet overhang the base to the point of all of them touching the ground irritates me.

Yes I see what you mean there. They're going to be difficult to assemble and IMO the feet sitting outside the base is unacceptable. I've never seen a mini with a solution like that. I plan on bending the legs and making them look like they're climbing over rocks etc, and pinning them as well.

The one complaint I have with Infinity minis is that they're VERY difficult to assemble properly, and almost always require pinning. Other than that they're utterly fantastic sculpts and IMO among the best that are out there.

Oh well, it's a nice break from spehss mareens and thanks for all the replies!

Just a heads up that the I have seen the feet off the base and it really doesn't look bad next to one with the feet adjusted back inward. Do not put Infinity models on larger or smaller bases then what they come with. While note as bad as Warmachine, it does have a serious impact on the game.

Nomad remotes have the same leg design (Nomads sold the tech specs to Haqq) and I converted mine onto the base.

Ok, the thing with the baggage remotes...

Baggage and Minelayer option.
- Baggage adds an extra 20 points to the Victory Points which its carrier would normally provide. So, when calculing the Retreat! state of your army, you may thank those extra points.
- minelayer allow the remote to make enmy mines behave like friendly mines.
Is this tactically cool? NO, it is not. Is this a gak option? NO. This remote costs only 8 points, the cheapest regular order in the whole army.

EVO repeater option.
- It comes with EVO repeater. that makes your Hacker more effective.
Is this tactically cool? well, only if you are using a hacker themed list and Haqqislam has very high WIP attributes, but still not awesome tool for your army.

Total Reaction option.
- It has Combi Rifles and the Total Reaction Skill
Is this tactically cool? Hell yes, everything with Total Reaction is cool, defends very well and this option is very cheap.

So, are the Kameel Remotes like a Top elite troop? NO. But they say they will be essential with the missions. So, everytime a player has to transport the usual Mcguffin' this remotes will do the job.

This has been another INFINITY post in the "Malifaux, Infinity and other skirmish games" subforum.
Good night.

Hehe, yeah the 8pt Minesweep option is rather terrible, but that being said sometimes you just need a cheap order.

I love the TR Bot, but it's only real downside is the 20pts boost from baggage. You really have to use it defensively to ensure that Baggage is a pro instead of a con.
