This Is Where the Fish Lives

Being new to the hobby, I have only been painting for about 2 months. I feel like I have most of the basics down (I own great brushes, thin the paint, etc.) and I wanted to up my game a little bit. That being said, this is my first attempt at blending. I believe it turned out mediocre mainly because my base color should have been a little darker. But I could just be being too hard on myself. If anyone has any tips or suggestions, please let me know!

You can darken the base by giving it a wash of black or brown (I prefer black), then re-blend with the base color then the highlight shades. That is usually what I do
