Really fast question, i always play them as being 2 troops per base rather than 2 wounds, loosing a would allows me to still move and fire like normal due to help from other guards men/shared load, is this correct?

The HWT is 1 model with 2 wounds. if the model loses 1 wound, it can still shoot as normal. Also, playing it as 2 models on 1 base, if you were to suffer a S6+ wound, only 1 model would be removed, instead of the entire HWT.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

As Happyjew said. Also, a HWT being one model means it can only fire one weapon per shooting phase. No shooting the heavy weapon with one model and a lasgun with the other. It can only shoot one.

admittedly i only shot the heavy weapon rather than that and the las because someone needs to load and spot ofc! i was just wondering about the wound allocation since it has 2 models rather than just 1

It's a 2-wound model that is just represented by two models that share a base.

Kind of similar to a Space Marine Attack Bike... You remove the whole, not the passenger first. Ofc Bikes have it better in that they can fire one weapon per rider.

One model, 2 Wounds. It means if you have a IG Heavy Weapons Squad you sadly can't kill of the three 'loaders' before removing a heavy weapon.

You could, but it would require arming the teams differently, at which point any benefit you gain from wound allocation shenanigans gets outweighed by the drawback of having a sub-optimal mix of weapons.

one of the main reasons i was confused is looking at the steel legion heavy weapons team in the 10 man squad, its 2 people, 2 bases o.o

That's because the Steel Legion were designed for previous codexes, where they were two separate models.
