During a battle today with my friend the following situation arose:

A High Elf Prince on a Star Dragon and 3 Dragon Princes charged a block of Temple Guard and a Slann. Due to earlier casualties, the Temple Guard was down to the command models. The lineup thus looked like this, where T is the Temple Guard, S the Slann, D the Dragon and P the Dragon Princes:

TTTSS
DDPPP

At the end of combat, the Dragon Princes and the Prince had wiped out the Temple Guard while the Guard and the Slann did nothing, leading to the following lineup:

___SS
DDPPP

Now, what happens to the Dragon? Is it still locked in combat, despite not being in B2B and as such unable to act, or is he no longer in combat and as such allowed to fly off? Is there any way for the Dragon to get into B2B with the Slann without the Dragon Princes dying?

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

I would have thought that whoever won the combat would slide accross so that everything was in combat.
i.e. if the Lizards had won combat, the slaan would move accross the shortest distance to get the corner of its base and the corner of the dragons base in contact or vise versa if the high elves won.

I believe this is addressed in the BRB, about units no longer being in B2B at the end of a combat round. Basically, combat is over for them and they can act as normal.
