Hey Dakka,

I had just played in a tournament the other week and we came across an wording issue.
I was playing against an Eldar Army in Annihilation and at the end of the game his Autarch (or some other IC) and Farseer where fleeing. Now we looked up the rules and it said all units fleeing at the end of the game are counted as destroyed. Now I do not have the rule book in front of me, but I believe the wording is a little different under the victory conditions, I think it states units that are "killed" or something a long those lines. So would I receive the Kill-points for them? or no? we ruled yes because we were under the assumption that's how all TO's normally rule it.

As a side note, it was a small tourney and the TO did not know much about 40k so that's why we ruled that way.

You are correct.

For each enemy unit that has been completely destroyed, you receive a "kill point".

"As soon as the game ends and before working out victory conditions, all units that are falling back are removed and count as destroyed.", page 90, BRB. Emphasis mine.

Agreed with ToBeWilly, they are removed and count as destroyed. This means that in Kill Points missions they count for kill points (including ICs) and in objective missions they will not capture/contest objectives.

If I am wrong, somebody will say so, as I don't have the brb in front of me either, but if the unit or IC a fleeing, and the game ends before they reach the tableedge, than they don't count , as they were no actually destroyed.

As was pointed out, by ToBeWily and Cheexsta, units that are falling back count are removed at the end of the game (before determining results) and count as destroyed.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Yikes. I didn't even fully read the posts AND I was wrong. Starting the day without a coffee has taken its toll. Sorry to waste time....
